Most companies don't trust their employees to have handy firarms. If someone had one in this case lives could have been saved. Now now! Violence is not the answer to violence, because it only begets more violence.
The right thing to do is call 911 then lie back and enjoy it, until the police arrive.

Early information indicates Russell may have been nearing a suspension at work and was possibly having gambling problems, he said. He also may have been having marital problems and become separated from his wife, Johnsen added. The real cause is that this guy is a miserable loser. It's just a good thing that he was not a creative loser. A truly creative loser would likely come up with something much more spectacular than grabbing a .40 caliber Glock and plinking individuals.

Time to ban plants. D00d, I know you're kidding around, but you're on to something here. Ever notice these psychos that off their co-workers are always holding some menial job?
You never here, "Bank President guns down 4" or "Sucessful Chairman kills board, self".

The first news reports on this were that the Killer used a "high capacity" hand gun but the offical news conference this afternoon stated that he had a 10 round capacity mag and fired 17 shots at the plant. I wonder if an armed citizen/coworker might have put an end to this rampage earlier if only permited to carry?

***Time to ban all the guns.***
Why not just make it illegal to take a gun to work! That would have stopped this varmint! It will also make THE COMPANY responsible for the safety of the employees!

Would he have even gone to the plant with this rampage plan if he knew that every 7th or 8th person was packing heat?

Of course not, CEO's and bank presidents, are far more focused and have much better people skills, but don't cross them or you will find out just how focused. They believe in long term punishment, not bang bang you're dead. That is not punishment, and way too easy. Leave that to the menial job holders with psycotic leanings. I'd venture to say wives and children could tell a few tales of just how focused CEO's and bank presidents might be.

More and more companies have strict rules about employees having firearms on site. I can't understand why the rule didn't work in this case. Anyway, I bet the poor bub looses his tenure over this. It is a shame that the rules are set up to encourage homicidal lunatics. He brought a gun to work. He shot and killed four people and wounded five others. Then, he killed himself. He may get fired over this.

Ever notice these psychos that off their co-workers are always holding some menial job? I blame this on the victim/entitlement mentality. On the one hand, people are told that life should be fair and someone will take care of them. When some loser fails he is the "victim" and blames everyone but himself. The entitlement mentality says that a very large part of the lives of successful people are the property of unsuccessful people. Some loser just takes this one step further and claims the lives of other people -- invariably people more successful than the loser.

No, he wasn't a loser. But he got on a bad streak and now he is one.
I guess I should have put sarcasm quotes around my message.
