"I feel like Bush coming to New York is especially hypocritical because he's done nothing for this city," said Sarah Beretczki,Idiot.
a 29-year-old illustrator from Brooklyn who sported a sign that read, "My Bush Sheds Its Own Blood."
Now that's just plain embarassing. Sick. What is with these radical women who cannot stop talking about/exposing their crotches as protest props?

I believe Gloria Charney meant to say that she has never been so mentally disturbed not politically disturbed.

"We're trying to connect the dots," says Leslie Cagan of United for Peace. "Bush and his administration are a multi-issue target, so we have to be a multi-issue movement." Bullsh!t, they always were a mult-issue movement. UFP was just the new moniker they chose last year, to take advantage of the anti-war fad. Prior to that, their website was some pro-Palestinian abomination whose name escapes me now.
And once again, no mention that Leslie Cagan is a communist and one of Castro's biggest fans.

I simply can't understand the mindset that thinks such a message is witty or meaningful. Let alone appropriate or even helpful. It's about as infantile as a grown man saying "look at my penis; I can make it stand up, aren't you impressed?"
Of course, this is from the same Village Voice that had the big Queer Issue out last week, so I probably shouldn't be surprised. But I am. Really, how low.

iPNB chair urges media leadership role for Pacifica *** June 24, 2002: The Pacifica radio network is one of the few national institutions of the Left and needs to heal its internal problems and take a leadership role in Left politics, Leslie Cagan told the opening session of the Pacifica Now conference in San Francisco June 18.
Cagan, chair of the interim Pacifica National Board, outlined what she called a "political vision" for the network. "My goal is to make each station and the net self-consciously a tool of the progressive social movement," she said.
For that to happen, she said, Pacifica's five stations need to be as strong as they can, and they need to work together.
Victory in the campaign to regain control of Pacifica from the previous board, "opened up a possibility of examining who these five stations are," Cagan said. "We must strengthen our relations with the community - particularly with the social change organizations." ***

The lie is their most widely used tool.

Maybe because they know that that's the only way someone will actually see or even think about their cooters?
You were at the pro-US FReep near the UN back in February, right? There was a woman with a similarly crude sign. And she was just as fugly as could be.

Communists and peace organizations have been hand in glove since the 1930s....probably earlier..

This group, United For Peace and Justice, click
here for some info on the group from its own web site. Very enlightening. Of course, no info about who pays for all of this.

Oh yeah, something about "the only Bush I trust is my own"...if I'd been caught on TV with something like that, my mother would have died of embarassment and my grandmothers would still be having seizures underground.
I guess I'm officially an old fart now, since I still believe in antiquated ideas like conducting one's self in public with a *tiny* bit of dignity.
