iPNB chair urges media leadership role for Pacifica *** June 24, 2002: The Pacifica radio network is one of the few national institutions of the Left and needs to heal its internal problems and take a leadership role in Left politics, Leslie Cagan told the opening session of the Pacifica Now conference in San Francisco June 18.

Cagan, chair of the interim Pacifica National Board, outlined what she called a "political vision" for the network. "My goal is to make each station and the net self-consciously a tool of the progressive social movement," she said.

For that to happen, she said, Pacifica's five stations need to be as strong as they can, and they need to work together.

I googled Eleanor Roosevelt,student activists and found a New Deal site that is eyeopening.League of Nations was mentioned by one of the activists.Socialists turned communists and had a lot of clout.

Oh yeah, something about "the only Bush I trust is my own"...if I'd been caught on TV with something like that, my mother would have died of embarassment and my grandmothers would still be having seizures underground.
