exactly - but at the same time you expect the person to be forever screwed up by being exposed to a watered down version while some would trust that God would work upon thier hardened hearts, softening them to a point where they are receptive to the complete word in say a KJV 1611.
My point is it can be used as an "entrance" bible - something to get your feet wet with - then move on when you mature, realizing the purpose of the TNIV
Look - you seem to think I like this version - Im merely saying that it can be used to the glory despite the shortcomings
I respect your opinion as a purist, heck - I (in my own purism) use a Catholic text for a number of reasons - so please understand my point and dont get too worked up
