McCain said nice, collegial things about his friend Kerry. That's right! All he did was say nice things about a friend; he didn't endorse him for President. Freepers, don't overreact.

Please show me where a lamestream codwrapper called on the carpet a Dem....asking the Dem why they weren't "bi-partisan"? If, as you say it happens "pretty much every time" it shouldn't take you much effort.

Well, IMO some people on both sides of the political spectrum are so blinded by their ideology and too lazy to think for themselves that they believe any moderate is a sellout or a puppet for the other side. Better go suck another orange, Osage... ;D< ZZZZZZ# ~~

I like oranges....LOL!!
Oh I agree with your thoughts on ideology blindness....No doubt about it. And we all certainly need to do self-examination on a regular basis. With that said....my thoughts don't change on what "bi-partisan" means to Dems...They have used that word to hoodwink the sheeple...when in fact they are some of the most partisan intolerant racist flim-flam artists that have ever come down the pike.
BTW, welcome to Free Republic...

"No I'm not over thirty,"
"...the threat of war...Laotians, Cambodians, and Burmese ... the USSR...attack us."
Now, I see the problem. You have been taught a silly lie regarding the "domino theory."
The NEA strikes again.
Did they teach you about how we were (are) "imperialist aghressors," and spent all of our time committing war crimes? That is, when we weren't drilling oil wells.

Sen. John McCain, whose breezy straight-talking style...'Scuse me, but...it isn't breezy; it's full sail windbag.

I don't read anywhere that McCain said he ENDORSES Kerry over Bush- which is what it implies when you say someone 'gives a nod to' a campaign Tell that to Andrew Miga at The Boston Herald. He's obviously trying a little 2004 campaign "ignition" himself (or his editors at the newspaper are) by using a headline such as this.

Did anybody notice whether the horse he rode in on, was white?

GOP maverick Sen. John McCain, whose breezy straight-talking style.... I'll agree with breezy (actually, I'd change it to long-winded), but the talk was anything but straight.

Did anybody notice whether the horse he rode in on, was white? It may have been white when he (dangerous assumption, but one that I'll make nonetheless) rode in, but after this...
...it was charcoal.

Amen! It makes me sick to my stomach when people are so ready to jetison somebody who isn't 100%. That's the kind of thinking that will get us 8 years of President Dean and Majority Leader Dashle. McCain isn't perfect at all, and sometimes I'd rather him shut up, but actually, he does some good, if nothing else, he keeps people on their toes.

GOP maverick Sen. John McCain, whose breezy straight-talking style ignited the 2000 White House race, predicts Sen. John Kerry could rekindle the same campaign magic this time around. What magic was that? The magic that led to W winning the primary, then the election? Come to think of it, that kind of magic might not be so bad after all!
Why do I always have the impression that McCain is trying to punish all Americans for the fact that he didn't win the 2000 primary?

I think Dean is more dangerous than Kerry. McCain would rather Kerry get in than Dean, just like many here would love to see Sharpton win.
Also, I think he personally likes Kerry more than Dean. So why not muddy the waters a bit? Dean is coming from behind, and we should hope they are without a front runner as long as possible.

The Boston Herald is owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, and generally is to the right of the Globe.. I have read very little in the Herald to make me believe that they have an understanding with Kerry.

Well, we have to remember that News Corp was friendly to Gore and was instrumental in the November DUI surprise in Campaign 2000.

``He is coming out of a kind of antiestablishment role that clearly resonates with some voters,'' said McCain. ``But I don't know if that can play with the broader electorate, the American public.''It seems to be working for him this year.
