"Dismissing my statement as an attack on corporations in general ..."

Did not dismiss, in fact made fun of, and yes, it was, an attack on corporations, in general. Your words were perfectly clear.

"My statement, "general culture of corporate greed", ..."

Speaks for itself.

"...was more directed at the Ivy League educated corporate executives that have been indoctrinated into a system..."

Yes, let's be on the same side, and practice class warfare, on those Greedy Ivy league guys. See, it is us, against them, after all.

"Unbridled capitalism is ruining our country ...

Did you really just say that?

Perhaps your system of governance would be better...what is it, exactly?

"Nice try at smearing me genious, why don't you try a logical argument to defend the "greed is good" mentality I am reviling."

The purpose of a business is to make money.

Perhaps your system of governance would be better...what is it, exactly?

Perhaps one that would adhere to a statement like this:

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity...

You also added to your plethora of remarks:

The purpose of a business is to make money.

At the expense of "the general welfare"?

Can I ask you in all sincerity, what do you think of the business models of Enron and Global Crossing?

Even Teddy Roosevelt realized there was a limit to a culture of greed...I suppose breaking up the trusts was a bad idea in you book?

As a successful business owner, I realize I could have used the business model espoused by Ivy League business schools, but I realize, at a spiritual level, that raping and pillaging the community at large is evil.

The government is not going to step in and forbid companies from sending jobs overseas.

When the economic erosion causes a true red-alert depression in the U.S. then there will be a tidal wave of political dissent. The politicians who attempt to obfuscate and continue the national economic betrayal policies...will be oused. 'Free enterprise' in politics. And then tariffs will be erected to solve the problems. Once and for all. India will become a ghost town for its IT industry. Unfortunately, China has focussed on capturing the actual hardware of industry, and disentangling from them will prove expensive...but just as essential.

Corporations are similar to firearms; They can be good or bad, depending on how the individual(s) who controls the thing direct its actions...

That was my point, which seems to have gone right over your head. ;-)

"Their pay isn't taxed"

How is their pay not being taxed? We all get SSI and Federal & State withholding taken right off the top. If you never file a tax return, you will never get it back. Or is there something I'm missing?

If so please let me know, so I can apply it to my own situation! ;D

"we are paying for their food stamps (even when they are illegal aliens)"

Yuck. How does that happen? Don't they need to prove US status somehow?

Yeah, I know what you mean. But some of those qualities you list are good qualities. I doubt Sam Walton cared about what he drove either.

My big fear is that "they" will take us over with their bad habits. My big hope is that their kids, like all immigrants' children, will assimilate and adopt the best of both worlds, as has been going on in this nation the past 200 or so years.

"They thrive because they sleep 15 to a house"

Aren't there laws against that? Anti-tenement laws, or at least building code violations?

The Underground Economy
Non-Reported Income. Many newcomers to the United States are forced to work "off-the-books" in the "underground economy," either because they do not have legal status or social security cards, because they lack work skills or because they prefer a work environment free of paperwork and government intervention. While such an arrangement is illegal, the government has a difficult time doing anything about it. In an underground economy situation, your wages won't be subject to withholding. You'll be paid in cash, but you won't necessarily be any richer, since you might be paid at a lower rate. Remember, too, that the parts of your wage withholding applicable to health insurance, unemployment insurance and social security are meant to benefit you. You won't have any of these benefits if you work for cash off-the-books.
