Thanks for that BUMP...hope you enjoy it when you are able to get to it.
BUMP'ed back.
To: Jeff Head
I didn't notice you had posted it! I got a heads up about it from a shipmate living in Bombay, which used to be one of our frequent ports of call (great food). He's one of the guys that bugged me to borrow your book, which is probably why he emailed me the story.
It's spooky!

That is wierd. A small world, huh?
Hope your friend liked the book! Have him tell his friends too...word or mouth is my friend on this project.
I was in Bombay for a couple of weeks in 1997, followed by similar time in Madras, Bagalore and New Delhi on an engineering evaluation trip. Wonderful experience.
Best Fregards.

EXCELLENT! I gotta get these!

Thanks for the BUMPS.
Over the weekend, based on excellent input from active duty Freepers, I made a couple of changes to the excerpt, principally changing the extraction team from a team of Rangers to a team from the 1st Special Forces Operations Detachment-Delta (SFOD-D), having the training occur on Eglin AFB in Florida instead of Benning in Georgia.
You can see the changes on the revised excerpt which is up on web-site, HERE.
Best regards.

Only idiots who've watched too many movies use the MAC-10--it is a POS.

Most people reading it will not be aware of that and are used to that particular weapon designation...but you comment and criticism is correct and understood.
That's already changed to the MP5SD in the manuscript and on the web site, as well as changing the team to an SFOD-D unit training at Eglin instead of Rangers in Georgia, which is also much more in keeping with how it would go down.
Thanks for the input and the BUMP.

I am sure you will love them. Lots of excerpts from each volume, reviews and how to acquire the volumes in either printed or ebook form on Amazon at the main site linked below.
THE DRAGON'S FURY SERIES
A Series about the coming World War III
The excerpt that is the object of this thread is from Volume IV which is currently being written and will be available in November.
If you do get the novels, please let me know what you think of them.
Best Fregards.

Just thought I'd ping you two and ask what you thought of the revisions I made to this excerpt that are now in the manuscript and on the web site
HERE.
Basically I changed the weapons from MAC-10 to MP5's and made the team a SFOD-D (Delta) team who train at a remote area of Eglin instead of Rangers training in Georgia. This was per some freeper input resulting from the thread.

Well my critisism would be the choice of the Mac-10. Not a military weapon, poor accuracy and a very unlikely application in 2009. Even the Colt M-4 which is standard military issue currently will likely be phased out by them. But I'm a gun nut so I pick up on these little things. A good tale none the less.
To: chuknospam
Thanks, already duly noted and fixed in the manuscript and on the site where the excerpt originates
HERE. Changed them to MP5SD's.
I also changed the extraction team to a SFOD-D Delta team instead of Rangers based on other Freeper input.
Take a gander and thanks for the input.

I tend to agree with teh revisions you said you made but the link does not work I got a 404 error.

Sorry, my bad on the link. Typo in the html.
Try this one HERE.
To: Jeff Head
I sent you a frep mail with my only question. all in all I like it. a rational for the mac 10's would have been as a false flag type operation but I like going to the MP5's. Now as to making it part of spec ops delta rather than a ranger op I also agree with that very much.

That Ernesto Contreres kid sounds sort of familiar, kinda rings a bell, but I can't quite place it. Hmm... was he in the news about 2 years ago?
(Just kidding)
I think for weapons on this type of case they would use AK-47 variants. The sound and sight would be confusing to the enemy.

Got the Fremail and responded. Thabks for the input, as always.
I believe the overall scenario/excerpt is fairly well fleshed out now and will continue on in Chapter Two where I am currently writing.
