I redid the application part a very short while ago, and had my email within a minute. You might want to try again, if you haven't already.

I heard the site was swamped yesterday. With less people on the net on weekends, you probably get a faster response.

Welcome to the nanny state. We are filled with a society of wusses who fear responsibility. I suppose next we'll be demanding criminal penalties for people who go to door to door. We love Big Brother. We can "trust" him to "protect" us.

I've used the line, "You give me your's and I'll give you mine." Only for females, of course.

And it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people!

"Jobs", my rosy pink Kennedy. An increasing percentage of the spammers who call me sound Caribbean or Indian.

No....I want a problem free life, thus I want my nanny to "protect" me....because I know that my nanny will never mistreat me.

I've kind of imagined it as a job for people with no skills or self-esteem.

Telemarketing jobs are real big around here ----the only other kinds of jobs are schools and health care ---both which use taxpayer money to fund them. Lots and lots of kids and single mothers trying to make a living ----there aren't other jobs.

I dumped the home phone ($45 a month) and got broadband internet ($40 a month). No more telemarketers, much faster internet, and a savings of $5 a month. Any questions?

Yep.

Sheepers is what they are. Mixed with an assortment of anti-capitalist loons.

Next they'll be after billboards, print ads, and TV commercials.

Heheh... I just figured out a way around this law. Big time. Wonder who I could sell it to?

I too get all those solitations/with checks in them payable to ME, I tear them up before I trash them, void them out.

Regarding everything else that wants my phone # and zip, I give them fake ones. Also, in regard to my mothers maiden name, I now use a fake one of those also, just have to be careful of which name I used and try to remember that one. The reason I give the fake one, it is too easy now with the genealogy sites up to get anyone's names. I gave my genealogy to a family member and never thought they would post any living person, they did. I was so mad, I got with them and told them to get us out of there pronto, that was against the rules of genealogy, NO LIVING PERSON is to be posted. People need to think before they act/or at least get permission to do so. I know they were trying to be helpful and nice, they were innocent, but for pete sake THINK.

I don't give out any more info than is needed.

No, I won't but I won't run to grab my nanny's apron strings either like most of the wusses on this thread.

There already are criminal penalties for going to a door posted "NO TRESPASSING", as there should be.

LOL. This is a weird comparison. If I posted a tresspassing (don't have one or need one btw), it would be my decision. I would never think of running like a confused and frightened child to the federal nanny to do it for me.

It has gotten to the point where I no longer answer my home telephone.

You are not alone. If we don't recogize a number we don't pick up. I have a "Zapper" and am now on the Texas Do-Not-Call list, but I still get calls.

I usually ask the caller, "Are you so F@$%ing stupid, this is the only job you can get?

I suggest you get your ass back to school Moron! Click!"

If you go to the website to register your number, you'll find that the don't call list doesn't apply to everyone, some are exempted...like long distance phone companies!! You'll never be rid of their calls...credit card companies, too!!

According to an article posted on ArsTechnica.com, some of those loopholes have since been closed by the FCC.
