Absolutely, I'm all for endowment funds but I draw the line on those who feel they are entitled to anything extra I may have. She is making us out to be heartless and not understanding of her situation....it's simply not true! This same heartless and not understanding person has seen the abuse of this system by so called "poor people"!

Asperger's Syndrome - which is most often likened to a milder version of Autism. Additional costs include private school and working with therapists - but I don't see any vouchers or special insurance coverage coming my way! And now he is entering his teens and eating like a horse. Maybe a supplemental food program would be in order!

Maybe the budget cuts could just begin with Senator Debra Bowen's (D-Redondo Beach) office - Hmmmmm??
In fact ... I think all the state reps and senators should start the budget cuts in their own offices first.

One of the reasons I became a republican was because of Prop 187. I learned my daughter was deaf at roughly the same time Prop 187 was being voted on. I made 40k a year but could not get help from the state alhtough I paid taxes. I could maybe afford the most basic of hearing aids for her - but if I actually made LESS money, then she could get even better hearing aids. I didn't see the sense in that. I realized that others were entitled to things that my child wasn't becuase I made a little over the cap. Why should people who did not pay into our system get more? At the time I was raising three girls on my own. I continued this for seven years. I got her her hearing aid - basic ones - thru a children's foundation. She learns and continues to use sign. Now that insurance pays for implants, she has one of those too. Life for her is grand.

On the John and Ken show (KFI 640) they said that our assembly hacks and senators get $125 day in PER DIEM ...also they get a car allowance of about $500 a month. I think Wesson Oil, from what I understand, drives a Lincoln Navigator.
