I am questioning the use of the term 'learning difficulties'. Does the reporter mean 'mentally retarded'? Because kids with learning difficulties or differences (kids who are bright but don't do well in a conventional classroom situation) are not that easy to spot. Ususally it takes a lot of specialized testing to figure out if a kid is indeed having problems. And this raping pervert can spot them in a moment of time?

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches, 250 pounds, 35 to 45 years old, with a gray and black beard. Police said he was last seen wearing black sunglasses, a beige fisherman's hat, a blue button-down shirt, beige vest, dark jeans, and boots.

In other words, he's the quintessential pervert--short, fat, bearded, middle-aged, and dressing like a geek.

I actually predicted this in the late 90's but prayed I would be wrong :-(

Two main reasons from what I was seeing.

1. Child porn became widely and easily available over the Internet and the porn itself increasingly involves younger children with more violent sexual assault. Now it is easy to find child rape videos, S&M, and bestiality with children whereas just 5 years ago that was even pretty rare on the Internet.

2. The anonymity of the Internet lets these pedophiles meet each other safely and talk amongst themselves. This gives them validation and security about their desires (prior to this, pedophiles were very alone and shamed in their "desires" as you couldn't very well bring this stuff up at the water cooler at work. Now they all have hundreds of pals all proud to be "pedophiles" and agreeing that society just doesn't understand children like *they do*.

Look at what society today regards as 'comfort' ...

Every other week there is someone kidnapping a child or found molesting or raping a child. I remember when I was a kid I could stay out until it got dark and not worry about anything. But then again peoople weren't inside all the time on their computers or watching Big Screen TV's. There was no cable and TV only had the basic channels. There were more people out walking around and not so many people indoors. And this was in the 60's. I feel sooo sorry for kids nowadays!
