=======
A couple points fellow FReepers.
First - over 900,000 signatures have been collected. They have not ALL been turned in. This is because every petition must be processed and scrutinized. We at the RecallGrayDavis.com - Howard Kaloogian's Recall Effort send back problem petitions for corrections to ensure that the ones we turn in stand up to every possible legal challenge by Secretary of State Kevin Shelley. The Contra Costa Times reports (and it's been published here at FR) that when the Contra Costa Registrar did an analysis of petitions submitted to them 90.62% of the signatures were valid - a number they described as "stunning" and like nothing they had ever seen before in history. This high of a validity rate will definitely not hold up statewide with all of the petitions, but it shows you the care and dedication we approach our work with.
Second - the "paid" petitioner signatures all have to be validated through an excrutiating process. The reason? You don't pay for invalid signatures. So before petitions circulated by these folks are turned in they have to be thoroughly vetted.
What's important now is for us to build AS BIG of a buffer/cushion as we can before July 4th so that we can withstand any Democrat attempts to invalidate signatures. So please, DO NOT STOP COLLECTING SIGNATURES! Let's get to 1.5 million or more signatures by July 4th so that we can ensure a FALL special election.
DOWNLOAD ANOTHER PETITION - CLICK HERE - when the July 23rd announcement of collected signatures is made (the next legal reporting period) then the world (including the b@st@rds in the press corps) will see that Californians have spoken in historic terms about whether this recall will qualify for the ballot.
It will. And many many FReepers have played an integral role in making this happen! Thanks for joining together for a great populist and historic effort.
