There is a story in the Bible which resonates here. Hezekiah, King of Israel, received some emissaries from Babylon and showed them all around his palace and Jerusalem. After they left, the prophet Isaiah came to him and asked who the people were (I think he probably already knew - everyone in Jerusalem must have known - but he wanted to hear what the king would say).

The king's response is telling: "They are from a distant land. They came from Babylon." In other words, don't worry yourself. These guys are hundreds of miles from us. No reason to be afraid.

Isaiah asks what they saw. The king admits that he showed them everything. "There is nothing among my treasures that I did not show them." (Does that sound familiar?)

Then Isaiah responded, "The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon."

And this happened about a hundred years later. Unfortunately, Hezekiah didn't live to see the result of his misjudgement. And the Clintons may not either. But there is no question that they have damaged this country severely.

I believe you have hit the nail on the head. The Lewinsky investigation, you remember, was authorized by Reno. Reno never did anything without Clinton's approval.

Meanwhile, investigations into Chinese money and other issues involving China were bottled up inside the Justice Department. Reno ordered the $50 million investigation into Clinton's private life while insuring that the important investigations would never see the light of day.

Senior Republicans had to know this, of course, and acquiesced. Remember back to those days, of all the histrionics as Republicans demanded to know all about what went on in that side office but never once, not once, demanding to know about the sale of classified technology to China.

I remember the frustration in the faces and voices of the younger Repubs who were trying to get Clinton, knowing full well what he was truly guilty of, but only allowed this one tiny hammer for a weapon. But none ever questioned publicly why their leadership would not ask the important questions. You remember all the endless discussions, as the Dems repeated endlessly that the Lewinsky scandal did not rise to the level of impeachment, and the Repubs argued that it did...

Ignoring that Clinton was guilty of both Treason and Bribery, both of which are explicitly grounds for impeachment. Both sides of the aisle were right; the scandal was not an impeachable offense, no matter how many millions were spent investigating it. And, yes, Clinton was most definitely guilty of an impeachable offense, its just that no one had the guts to actually charge him with it.

Why would that be? Could it be that the Chinese don't only bribe Democrats? Could it be that Clinton would not go down alone? Could it be the reason the Repubs used the Lewinsky affair to try and take him down, is that she, unlike the Chinese, had only been with a senior Democrat?

Remember the Long Beach Naval Shipyard affair, in which China was represented by Al Haig, Republican, and in which Kissinger was also involved. And I remember a scandal involving the Aberdeen Proving Ground in which scientists doing calculations for China were outed, and the guys that outed them were fired... The affair began under Bush Sr and finished under Clinton, giving me the impression that Bush Sr was implicated in some of the same affairs as Clinton.

GW Bush strikes me as an honorable man, and I will vote for him again. But Bush Sr and Clinton are involved in some of the same monkey business. While Bush Sr may (I prefer to believe) have done what he did for God and Country, and Clinton clearly did it for personal gain, there is nonetheless no way to take down the one without taking down the other. And while GW is honorable, there is little chance he will arrest his Dad, thus the Clintons sleep soundly at night.

I don't know how you can be a tinfoiler when it comes to the Clintons. At the very least, I don't think they were that upset that Monica came along and took the focus off of China. It was something they could easily spin, and they certainly didn't care about the cost of dragging it out for seven months.

Of course, they could have leaked it themselves because they knew it was a fight they could win. Wouldn't surprise me a bit!

Also, what was the standard operating procedure when another allegation would surface, even more serious than Monica (I say that because they deceived the public into believing it was about her and not perjury and obstruction of justice)?

Sonething like, "Here we go again, people making up all kinds of allegations that will only tie up the government again. It's a vast VRWC! They're trying at all costs to undo the election! We need to move on and do the work of the American people! These people will stop at nothing!"

Monica was the lowest common denominator in a series of scandals that deflected attention off of the more treacherous ones that would have landed Clinton in jail.

Read the speech Inhofe gave on the Senate floor in 1999, that I have linked above in post #7 and you will see that Inhofe was on to Clinton's treasonous activities like a coon dog striking a trail. The problem is what would happen if a POTUS was shown to be a Traitor and what would it do to our system of Government?

In my heart I think Clinton is guilty as sin, I believe Clinton cared about our military secrets no more than he did the men and women who served in the Military. There is a lot of brilliant minds among the thousands of people who look after our National Security and who are quite versed in dealing with less than truthful administrations. Not to mention how to deal with scandals that could potentially bring down the Government. These people earned their keep when Bill Clinton was in power :-)

Americans are now confronted with the spectacle of Hillary Clinton cynically trying lay down the foundations for a presidential bid. This woman is far worse than her husband ever was. God help America, not to mention the rest of us, should she manage to fulfill her overriding ambition.

He's right

Have you ever read about the drug bust at Mena Airport in Arizona that possibly links Clinton & Bush Sr. to Iran Contra?

That whole mess stinks to high heaven as well.

But in defense of GHWB, He was an ex CIA Director who knew all about covert operations like what went on in South America. IMHO GHWB was neck deep in Iran Contra and due to an unfortunate set of circumstances is what led to the connection between GHWB and Clinton

"Take a look at this thread! Scarey!"

EVERYTHING about this couple is scary. He was a calculating manipulator before he met her. Together they are lethal. We just don't know to what extent....yet.

Remember that Inhofe's propeller came off his plane (while on his way to meet Clinton in OK) after giving the speech linked in post #7. Below are links to describe the 'accident' and the speech he gave in the Senate 3 months after the initial address.

IMO, most of the big press stories during Clinton's presidency obscured what should have been reported. He and HRC are artful in their use of distraction.

Didn't Inhofe Chair the committee looking into the loss of our Technoligy?

It's awfully starnge how so many of Clinton's detractors ended up dead in some freak accident or committed Arkancide

Chris Cox chaired the committee looking into the tech loss.

The list of dead Clinton associates/detractors is stunning! What's even more stunning is that HRC, in one of her recent TV interviews, related that she had been accused of murder/called a murderer. Her words are always carefully crafted. Why would she use the murder word out loud on national television?!

I have always wondered about our dear departed "Trixie" and her part in this. I remember when she first appeared on FR. I was a lurker then. She seemed a phony from the first. I believe it was Tony Snow, a "friend" of Linda's who hooked Linda up with Trixie. Never trusted those two after that. If Linda was involved in this mess, it was only by manipulation. She is the only one whose star did not rise...she has suffered terribly. Even the Bush White House turned its back on her.

Very true, and something that we all need to remember.

It looks like he has gotten away with it all. But I still cherish the hope that someday... somehow... Clinton will pay for his crimes.

Clinton will pay for his crimes the day all politicians become honest. Don't hold your breath.

While bjclinton held the title of President, what cannot be left out of the picture is that we were told from the beginning of their reign that we got two for the price of one.

bjclinton was the bait, the image, the voice and face of the reign of clintons, however it was Hillary who ran the show.

Hillary's attempt to paint bjclinton as being set-up by a "VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY" sums up her role as co-president.

These two had a world wide network of the communist/socialist fellow traverlers already established from their reign in Arkansas, and bjclinton's Euro days pretending to be in college.

These two never gave a wit about what was in the best interest of this nation, they were so drunk and obsessed with the power they had conned Americans into giving them, the first and foremost goal was maintaining that power.

China buying nuclear delivery methods, for campaign dollars, along with Indonesia money (Indonesia coal/Utah coal), were the source of campaign contributions so necessary to win in 1996. Nuclear arming of whom ever, where ever, when ever, was never an issue to this bunch, after all the stated policy was "EQUALIZE ALL NATIONS".

After all, that adoption of N. Korea, in 1994, that too many think was a China deal, came out of the fact that Russia, who could no longer afford the upkeep. Getting the US to pay for N. Korean upkeep and allowing nuclear status, as well as feeding them, served what purpose and for whom?

China did in fact benefit from the US adoption of N. Korea, kept hordes of starving N. Koreans from flooding into China, but it did far more than that. N. Korea became the drug runner of the Far East and slave labor became a source of producing military hardware that was too expensive and too easily to connect with Russia and China. (Russia under Stalin made a pact with China over N. Korea in 1950)

The past 100+ years have been a worldwide "VAST LEFT WING CONSPIRACY" of the believers of communism/socialism/liberalism to take away from this nation its standards, status, and blessings.

These two were given the opportunity to nail the final nails into their coffin, "FREEDOM", and too many of US citizens helped them almost accomplish the dreams of the anti-God, anti-freedom leftists of the world.

bjclinton could never have accomplished "TREASON" without the actions of his devoted little woman.
