In some cases, we got first time confirmation. In others, we got confirmation of information already available from the FBI and Venona. Remember that McCarthy was looking for security risks in the federal government, not just "card-carriers" and spies. So sympathizers and fellow travellers were also named.

Reading all of this, I find that the response you made makes the most sense of all of this. The best part was "go figure". And the icing is the defense of the communist traitors that we find through the Russion cables released recently. Again...go figure!

You are right...you do have the right to associate with anyone or any organization you wish, but when your position within our government is such that you are committing traitorous acts, you SHOULD be stopped from committing those acts. You can continue to associate with whomever you wish, but not in such a position within our government, and any actions you KNOW are against the law, or are traitorous to our Nation, should be dealt with, and punished.
