"No lust," indeed! This may be one of the most stupid ideas in the history of left-liberal thinking.I wholeheartedly agree.
If I had gone to a camp like that at that age, I would have had to constantly think of baseball statistics, economics and other boring subjects. :)

I confess I've always wondered if getting a woodie is considered bad form in a nudist camp. Oh, the shame of it... being expelled for sporting "morning wood". ;-)

Another disgusting example of the moral collapse of the West. In a nation that arrests people for having nude pictures of their small children developed at Wal-Mart, you have to wonder why the "adults" who run these camps (can you say pedophile magnet?) and the parents who send their children there aren't arrested, and why the NYT would write such a glowing report on these camps. Anything that is an organized assault on traditional morality or society is to be promoted, I suppose.
BTW, why is it that nudists are uniformly so freaking ugly?

...the dress code for regular volleyball and for the pudding toss, mini-golf and campfire sing-alongs is the same as it is for skinny dipping....Does this mean that naked teens grab handfuls of pudding and toss it at one another?

"Teenagers in some European countries do the nude beach thing all the time."
Yeah I remember being with a Church youth group in Poland and it was totally excepted for people to strip down or change when going swimming. America still has its puritan roots. It's funny how they manage to produce the most pron in the world, but get that so upset(excited?) about nudity.
I remember having to explain friends from Europe that no you cann't change on the beach here. People will actually call the cops on you.

Even the occasional clothing, worn in the camp's shuttle van, must not be "sexually alluring." What?!
To: xsmommy
you grew out of it?; )Hardly. I just have more self-control now than when I was 15.
Marginally. ;)

Nudism is a "movement" that goes, way, way back. A bit "different" but -- as I understand it, since it is a family thing the kids get used to seeing nudity from an early age and are then desensitized to it. The funny thing is that it always was a conservative movement. It was always very non-mainstream but it was never driven by leftists or liberals. Visualize a bunch of 1950's "squares" going camping -- only naked.

Aside from the obvious, naked camp looks a lot like other camps: campers play Capture the Flag, catch frogs and leap up when the whistle blows signaling seconds for ice cream. They make s'mores and sing modified campfire songs. I've got to read more slowly and carefully. On my first skim-through, I saw "capture the flag" and somehow interpreted that as "flag football" (possibly from my own memories of summer activities). Then I thought, "We used to tuck the flags in our back pants pockets. Where do they...?" :^P

BTW, why is it that nudists are uniformly so freaking ugly? People are ... well compared to our standards of who we'd like to sleep with ... pretty ugly. Go into a public area and imagine what the people around you would look like naked.
