Not sure what 7/11 you bought your supposedly lily white, pristine logic processes from but you might consider a refund.

But then, perhaps you haven't focused much on the fact that lots of people arrive at different conclusions given the same or similar inputs--all without being crazy, dumb, a drag on sanity, IQ or the wonderful FR whereat all kinds of things can be discussed by all kinds of hopefully reasonably conservative people.

I SURE HOPE you are right in terms of the defenders of the Republic winning.

There are some sources who believe that Christians in the invading Chinese masses of troops will at some point turn and fight against their countrymen in behalf of The Republic. And, there's George Washington's dream predicting angelic forces, evidently, rescuing the Republic in a cliff hanger situation.

Anyway--not a dull time to be alive . . .

It's going to be awhile before anyone can stage a "Red Dawn" style invasion here. Even if they could, as long as the Vietnam-generation guys are old enough to fight, the enemies of America will not prevail.

Thirty years from now, when those guys have gone to the "America in the sky", and the next generation of wusses and sheep are inhabiting this country, and have given up their arms, it may be a different story.

I do believe the Republic will survive. I believe God wills it so, so it will.

I thought the Washington vision thing had been assaulted as an urban legend but had survived somehow. I should check on it.

It's mostly not that important to "win an argument" in this ball park any more.

You hit the nail on the head. I notice this kind of attitude on various threads, various subjects. Also I notice that the person doing this has some personal reason they get upset over any contradiction to their views.

They think that Free Republic (and any other conversational type website) is a place where they can go to WIN THE ARGUMENT.

What they miss is the most important thing, and that is to LEARN from the experience.

I MUCH AGREE AB OUT HAVING THE EXPERIENCE VS WINNING AN ARGUMENT.

A lot of times, the main reasons I bother with such people is to avoid letting them have the impression there isn't a strong other side--

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY--to give the lurkers some food for thought--hopefully--since usually the strident ones are somewhat beyond hope in too many respects.
