You are correct. 20 years from now 'lipitor' or its replacement will be nearly free. Antibiotics that actually *work* on the bugs of the day will be unavailable at any price...better stay healthy and don't get any cuts or dental work or....

Actually it's a misnomer to think Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor. That's not what happened by a long shot. Robin Hood took from the TaxMan (sheriff of Nottingham) what the good Sheriff had unkindly plundered from the locals and returned the plunder to the locals from whence it came.

Well, thank God we didn't get Owlgore or four more years of the Clintons or we'd be on the road to socialism. Nobody's going to care what it costs because they won't think they are paying for it.

The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize
they can bribe the people with their own money.

SOURCE:Al Gores Prescription For Medicare: Cutting Funding While Opposing Bipartisan Reform
AUSTIN, TX - Instead of explaining why the Clinton-Gore Administration has opposed bipartisan Medicare reform and proposed cuts in Medicare funding, Al Gore today again changed his position on a major issue in this campaign.
"Governor Bush supports providing prescription drug coverage to Americas seniors, but Al Gores charts and graphs cant hide the fact that the Clinton-Gore administration opposed bipartisan Medicare reform and they submitted a budget to cut Medicare spending by $70 billion," said Bush spokesman Dan Bartlett.
Oh, the tragedy, the tragedy, CUTS, CUTS!!

SO true. That is what is happening in Canada. So many Canadians cross the border when time or diagnosis matters. I'll tell you an interesting story. I knew an ex-Canadian doctor who left due to socialized medicine. When he returned ten years later to visit an older doctor, a really excellent one, he found that the doctor's skills had deteriorated. A great doctor cannot be great under a government run medical program. Never forgot that story.

I don't know why Bush wants to destroy Social Security ---if you offer those benefits to everyone in Mexico ---especially those who claim to have worked here illegally, it will take a lot more money than that. He's basing the projections on estimated illegals ---but if they don't need to produce legal documentation ---obviously an illegal cannot, he's underestimating by far. Just like in the late 80s amnesty ---there were a few hundred thousand illegals here, but to obtain amnesty they only needed a letter from someone ---anyone, truthful or not, stating they worked for them ---that's why over 3 million made a run for the border and got in on amnesty ---for many it was their first time in the US.
