Shock and awe was trumpeted long before it was used. It was a showcase of our strength and arsenal.

If we did anything covertly, it certainly was not for the purpose of not trying to offend anyone.

The bombings had a specific target and purpose. It was demonstrated by video afterward how precise the bombings were and why they were targeted.

Rice: And Israel, she said, must "recognize consequences" from the way it battles terrorism.

This happens all the time.

This is the United States telling Israel that they can not fight terrorism, like we fight terrorism.

in this country we usually arrest, charge, and try terrorists.

in israel (at least recently) they fire a missile that kills the terrorist, his wife, young children, and a couple of bystanders.

i think the point rice is making about the way you battle terrorism is pretty clear.

The difference between you and me is that while I am and vote Republican, I am not a blind follower of any party or any politician.

So when Lanny Davis and all the other Clinton foot soldiers told us that perjury was OK because it was just about sex, they, and Clinton, the President of the United States, disgusted me. I seem to recall many here being disgusted.

When friends say I told you so because I vouched for Bush, and when I have come to believe against all hope that Bush is heavily influenced by our mortal enemies the Saudis, and when I see blatant hypocrisy, which belies the entire foundation of Bush's war on (selective) terrorism, in the treatment of Israel, I am disgusted.

I am doubly disgusted because I am upset at myself for my misplaced hope in Bush.

If you've got that Delta ticket, I'm game for a vacation, but not to France. And I'm coming back. With or without Al.

To be honest, I'm becoming less certain of what Iraq was/is all about.

Our real enemies are the Saudis. But the President tells me that they are our friends. Notwithstanding that they teach their young to hate us infidels and they fund most terrorists organizations.

Scratching my head.

But then, we're not in the same position that Isreal is in are we?

You can't do the same thing over and over and over and over and keep expecting the outcome to be different. How long has Israel been going after the terrorists, bombing the terrorists, knocking their houses down, taking out their buildings? How long? How great has it worked?

You finally have Bush come along, who is determined to wipe out terrorism, and everyone is throwing marbles under his feet. So far he's been pretty innovative and yet everyone here has been going on about Clinton policies and Road Map is bad. Does anyone who has two functioning braincells actually believe that the roadmap is the full plan? Has anyone learned anything from watching this guy make fools of his enemies for the last 2 1/2 years? Nooooooooo, they fall for the media hype, start listening to the nuke 'em crowd, and start clammering for the bombs. Like it ever worked before.

Instead of waiting to find out what Bush & Co had in mind they went off on their own and did the same thing over and over and over and over and the results will be exactly the same. More terror, more bombs, more terror, more bombs, more terror.....................

Our real enemies are the Saudis.

i agree completely. and yet a disturbing percentage of americans still think the 9-11 hijackers were iraqi, not saudi.

I am reserving judgment, he has clearly earned that by his actions in the past. I have not turned my back on Bush yet. But I am very unhappy about the double standard being used on Israel and I believe Bush is wrong. (who isn’t at one time or another!)

I would much rather see Bush simply say that If Hamas and Hizbulla do not stop attacking Jews, the United States will attack Syria and Iran the masters of the proxy armies of Hamas and Hizbulla and destroy their headquarters there.

I believe that alone might actually make it possible to get somewhere. Pretending that Arafat is not running the show, when Arafat is still sitting at the table, (at the head of the table by the way), that Abbas is suddenly not a terrorist, and that the Palestinians are somehow beginning to crack down on terrorists when they say they announce that they will not disarm them is making a fool out of us all. Then demanding that Israel pretend that the PA actually did something shows that we will accept talk, not action. So talk is all we will get, until our ears fall or get blown off.

The Arabs do not fear those they laugh at. What is very important to you and I personally is that they do not attack those they fear.

I do not need them to like the United States, I need them to FEAR the United States. That is the only "road" that will lead to peace. And Bush is not on that road, not by a long shot.

He and Sharon are trying to apply a western solution to an eastern mindset. Big mistake, but a very easy one to make.

There are a car full of dead terrorist in Yemen, a whole lot of dead people in both Iraq and Afghanistan who would argue with the American arrest, charge and try concept.

You can't do the same thing over and over and over and over and keep expecting the outcome to be different.

Israel restraining herself is the same thing over and over.

You finally have Bush come along, who is determined to wipe out terrorism, and everyone is throwing marbles under his feet. So far he's been pretty innovative and yet, everyone here has been going on about Clinton policies and Road Map is bad.

These are sweeping generalizations and have nothing to do with the issue I was discussing.

Ummmm, if you haven't noticed, Powell warned Syria on Hamas and Hizbollah, Bush warned the other states about the same thing. Specifically naming them. Does that sound like nothing to you. Have you learned NOTHING watching this man operate?

I am so sick of the lack of loyalty around here. Just remember, people who don't give loyalty can't expect loyalty in return. Bush will keep his word, he always does.
