The U.S. should keep hands off? You do not think CIA operatives are in the crowd and helping to stir the pot?
The agents are there and very busy IMHO.

There is an article in Tehran Times of today:
http://www.tehrantimes.com/Description.asp?Da=6/10/03&Cat=2&Num=033 MPs Hopeful About a Breakthrough Between Majlis and Guardian Council Over Twin Bills TEHRAN -- The Parliament and the Guardian Council opened a series of negotiations on Monday on the twin bills about the election law and the executive procedure for the president to ensure respect for the constitutional rights of the people. Kazem Jalali, a deputy from Shahroud and a member of the Majlis Foreign Policy National Security Commission told the Mehr News Agency that he is personally optimistic about the results of the joint session between the Majlis and the Guardian Council over the twin bills and election laws.
GC better make a deal sooner than later...

It really doesn't matter because power won't change much.
The Parliament, GC issue is a joke compared to what the people really want.

The demonstrations are starting a bit early this year.
BTW: Do you or your sources know if the Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad thugs have hit the streets yet?

Iran's regime looks set to fall in near future
even if we didn't do anything.
Just yesterday I think it was, our troops
were fired upon form inside a Mosque, but
Islam has nothing to do with it.
I wouldn't assume those attacking us our
Saddam's guys, just about no one sad to
see him go, its the Islamic gang that
hates American is why we are going to
continued and probably increasing violence.
But again has nothing to do with the "Noble religion
of Peace" Islam.

One of those U.S. based Iranian satellite channels is near where I live. Before the Iraq war, I remember a local tv reporter interviewing a former Iranian who had set up an Iranian channel to entertain and inform locals.
One day when he was taking calls from the audience, someone called in and said they were calling from Iran. The broadcaster didn't believe him, though the caller ID number indicated the general location as mideast. So, the broadcaster held up a piece of fruit and asked the caller to identify what he was showing...the caller identified the fruit and ever since then, the Iranian-American broadcaster has focused his agenda toward both entertainment and politics (a pro-America slant).
Prior to the war, there was a special feature story about the above broadcaster was on the local tv lineup...however, when I tuned to watch it, the feature topic had been changed. I assume this was a protective measure.

Agree, that is why the GC need to step down ASAP otherwise the tide of time will sweep them aside.
