And these same individuals call those who refer to homosexuality as an unhealthy lifestyle irrational!

Bob Challis was afraid to reveal his homosexuality until he was in his 40s. He said Tuesday when he was "outed" at his workplace, co-workers made baseless allegations that he had sexually abused mentally challenged clients...Challis said homophobia was a factor in triggering his bouts with depression and bipolar disorder. I wonder what sort of job Mr. Challis had that dealt with mentally challenged clients? His depression comes from his own unnatural choices and his bipolar disorder more than likely has something to do with a chemical imbalance, not us mean ol' heteros.

His depression comes from his own unnatural choices While it doesn't always, it certainly can. And clueless shrinks (alas, the majority) have no idea how to address it when it does.

Homophobia also causes hemorrhoids.

Wait for the breathless posters to point to the Wyoming gayicide. Of course the kidicides committed through, er, overzealous sex by nambla-ites get less publicity.

The review says that 5,500 Canadians die each year as a result of homophobia, but Hellquist said if could include the gay and lesbian community as a whole, the numbers would be higher. Is there a new system of logic in vogue. Can someone explain this?

A movement for homosexual reparations in the works?

>>>Killer Homophobia
Gays in Canada dying from suicide, alcoholism, illicit drug use, smoking, depression, murder, unemployment and HIV are actually dying because of homophobia, claims the CanWest News Service.I thought I'd seen it all!

"Wait for the breathless posters to point to the Wyoming gayicide."
Homocide would be a more appropritate term.
I don't know what - if any - "in your face" activity the unfortunate homosexual was engaged in, but I've always been of the opinion that if you do something to get a reaction from someone, you'd better be prepared for whatever that reaction might be. Needless to say, I tend to mind my own business unless I'm prepared to go all the way, which isn't very often.

He said research has shown higher rates of suicide, alcoholism, illicit drug use, smoking, depression, murder, unemployment, and HIV AIDS in the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered population.

Would it be worth considering that the dynamics producing these rates are also responsible for a person's being gay?

Do you think if you had enough to drink, you would turn gay?
Or if you got depressed enough, you'd go barebacking?
Doesn't say much for the depth of heterosexuality, does it?

In another essay RLK wrote:
"There is a funneling of other values and feelings into sex. To put it another way, sex becomes an expression of a person's value systems and an expression of a highly-developed complex relationship between people. The more highly developed and complex the person is, and the more highly developed a system of values a person has, the less dominant sex becomes, even as sex, because it is outweighed in significance by the other parts of that person's personality system and the other values in the complexity of the relationship. These values and complications, and their expression, become prerequisite to a relationship and become prerequisites to sex, placing inherent limits upon sexual activity in developed people. Sexual activity not integrated with the total personality and integrated with values produces feelings of intensified isolation. Consequently, people of emotional depth do not focus on sexual freedom as it is of little interest and has little utility in producing personal satisfaction. Not only is sexual license irrelevant, but it is psychologically isolating and repugnant to them."
What this infers is that the problems indicated by chemical dependency and depression combine with a nearly universal psychological environment promoted by contemporary culture which tends to psychologically castrate young men and make them very susceptible to homosexual inclinations. This was enabled by the "sexual revolution," and the corresponding popular encouragement of the immediate indulgence of whatever impulse presented itself at the moment.
Taken together, the results of nearly forty years of this are obvious. Promiscuity and the associated STD's, abortion, divorce rates and their associated psychological problems all tend to callous people into thinking that such problems are the normal human condition. Oh, and by the way, the associated widespread inability to engage in healthy heterosexual relationships has tended to promote homosexsuality as just another sexual preference. What is extant now is a self-referencing delusional system which considers any individual repression of momentary sexual urge a social ill, when quite the opposite is the case.
You'rs putting the cart before the horse, in other words.
