At least they got one. Would love to see them hand the terrorist over but I doubt the French will.

Right... if the French do hand him over, it will only be after US prosecutors agree to forego any possibility of capital punishment, which the 9-11 perps so richly deserve.
To: darkwing104
OTOH, the fact that they finally even are holding this perp may signal that they know for sure that they are on the USA sh!t list. They will do as little as possible, as slowly as possible to see what it will take to make us *friends* again.

I read an article on FR not long ago about the status of the French judicial system and crime in France. In many areas which are heavily Muslim populated, it is simply too dangerous for women to go out alone as gang-rape has become quite common. Theft rate of bicycles, motor-peds etc. is high with the pepetrators reportedly asking anyone who confronted their larcency "What are you going to do about it?" The local constabulary encourages the citizenry NOT to press charges on crimes because they admit the case will likely be thrown out.
With this sort of lawlessness in the French streets, I suppose it's no wonder they have only arrested ONE terrorist. The county is full of them I'm convinced.

I wonder if Zacarias Moussaoui is going to subpoena him (and I wish we'd dump the criminal prosecution and send Moussaoui to a military tribunal asap).

That was the same situation in Germany -- the Hamburg cops were afraid (lazy?) to go into the Islamist areas of the city, and that's why the Hamburg AQ cell was never rolled up (that's where the planning for 9-11 took place AFAIK).

Another reason not to visit. We know of a young lady who had a pass port stolen in Paris. She got nothing done from the police.
She had to send a friend to the American Embassy to come bail her out for not having a passport after she went to file a police report that her passport had been stolen.

I hope they will investigate why he was going there. Are there more AQ members there, or was he preparing for another attack, or both?

( 60,000 muslims per year to the USA - Why Why Why??)
To: Grampa Dave
That's pretty much typical of the slimy, cowardly, craven French. They'll throw their weight around to intimidate a lone American woman who's just been victimized by the street trash they refuse to deal with, but when the Islamofascists take over the country, they'll cheerfully hand over every Jew they can get their hands on to be massacred.
Expect the French weasels to hang onto this guy for a few weeks (until the media spotlight goes away), and then quietly turn him loose.
To: Prince Charles
He probably outlived his usefullness to the treacherous Frogs, so they decided to "capture" him.

The French Spin a Different War Story
Insight on the News ^ | unknown [recently] | Kenneth R. Timmerman

... The average Frenchman listening to state-run France Inter radio or Antenne 2 television during the first week of the war in Iraq saw the United States spiraling toward a humiliating defeat, and Bush, the "cowboy" president, headed for ignominy if not impeachment. In tones that mixed elation and awe, newsmen and pundits began speculating on how the Middle East would look the day after the United States lost the war against Saddam. Wouldn't this dramatic display of U.S. vulnerability encourage other nations and terrorist groups to challenge overrated U.S. military might?...
