I'm sorry - I'm just laughing about the concept of Ellen DeGeneres in a movie about fish! "Hello, girls!" :-) (giggling ... anyone remember the Kip Adotta fish pun "song"?)

What about the AIDS prevention posters paid for by our tax dollars which advertise on the side of bus shelters and down in the Metro stations?
Have you seen them?
They're disgusting. BTW do you live here?

Steve Jobs, of Apple Computer fame, also runs Pixar. Nemo completes a five picture deal with Disney (Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Bug's Life, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo), although there was some disagreement over whether Toy Story 2, being a sequel, counted. Pixar needed Disney's marketing muscle at first, but now, with the deal out of the way, Disney will either have to pony up a phenomenal amount of money or Pixar will find another distributor (they're like a guaranteed cash machine).

Boycott Disney and their movies....Disney and their support of the homosexual agenda is under boycott from many church denominations in the US.

It's in -- ha! -- fourth place! Not to rain on your parade, but it is still 100 million dollars ahead of Bruce Almighty. It is in fourth place because it was release a week earlier.

It is every bit as good as any of the other Pixar movies. In fact, I'd say it was their best, yet! I agree, this is Pixar's best film yet, and I predict it will surprise many, like Bruce Almighty has, except with greater staying power. It may vie for the top movie of this summer.

I agree...I think it will have awesome staying power, and will be one of the top movies of the summer. My daughter mentioned tonight that she would like to see it again. She never does that.;o)
I know an 11 year old boy who would like to see Bruce Almighty. Do you think it be suitable for him?

I haven't seem BAM yet, I would suggest reading all the reviews you can find about it to get a feeling for the movie content. Seems to me it has some subtle adult themes, from the movie previews and trailers..

I loved it too!
One of my favorite moments was at the end where the five fish look at each other and say, "What next?" LOL!
The images of Sydney were incredible.

I think he would be fine to go see 'Bruce Almighty' it has good positive message and surprisingly few curse words and adult content for a PG-13 movie..

There's a little sexual innuendo, but it is brief, and forgotten. The over arching theme is to get over ones self and look around to the ones who love you, and love them back. Do what you're good at. My family really liked it.
A solitary (hilarious) use of the F word, too.

Thank you all for your input.
With movies rated PG-13, you just never know. The content of some are closer to R rated, while others are closer to G rated.
He's at the age where G rated movies are fine, as long as they are good, such as "Finding Nemo". But others, which may be fine for his little brother and sister, are eye-rollers for him.

I saw this with my son, his friend, and friend's mom yesterday, and I just loved it. The humans reminded me of the humans in Wallace and Gromit. :-)
I thought Ellen deG was excellent as Dory (I saw her at the San Fran Comedy Competition in 1985 or 86, before she imposed her personal life on her, and I went into Overlaugh), and kind of touching, too (no spoilers). "Oh look! Turtles!
Albert Brooks was a great choice for Dad. I was unsure how believable it would all be, but I really got drawn into it. Characters you care about (and being a parent, who could avoid it?)
Loved the (ahem) three sharks, too.

I also read that if Nemo does well, it would give Pixar more leverage in its escape from Disney. I think that's a lock...

I lived in the City until my son was three, and then got the hell out (well, a divorce was a real instigator), but we were looking at the East Bay anyway. There is NO WAY I would raise him there, much less go to the gubmint schools.

They won't know unless you tell them.
Why would you want to tell them?
If you are upset about homosexuals making their sexuality an issue, why would you then not take the kids to see a Disney/Pixar movie, where the issue of homosexuality does not exist then introduce the issue, doing basically what you are upset at the homosexuals about, and negatively impacting your kids?
I took my kids today, I did not know that it was DeGeneres's voice coming out of the speakers, it was a funny, forgetful little blue fish, which was more real to my kids than an entire "gay" issue that they don't know a thing about.
Ten years from now, when one of your kids asks you why you never took them to see that movie, will you tell them that it was because the voice of the little blue fish was recorded by a homo?
Take the kids to see the movie, it's a great movie.

And beyond the obvious enjoyableness (?) of Nemo, I also liked the pro-family, pro-friendship current (ha!) that ran through it. Loyalty, optimism ("half-full"!), dedication and perseverance - all very good things. And we all left the theater smiling. I will get the DVD the first week it's out.
BTW, an update that Stanton's voicing of Crush was originally a scratch track, to be filled in by a "name" actor, but it worked so well, they kept it. (Kind of like ad agency king Hal Riney's down-home readings for Dreyer's Ice cream, Stanley Tools, and Saturn.)
So, yeah, I'd go see it again.
