This looks like it's real. It's a shame these sickos have sullied the reputation of the British military.
The artist rendering of the forklift incident is amusing though.

The hand of a man behind the Iraqi?s head appeared to be forcing him to perform oral sex. Was the penetrator named "Slick"?
And was the penetratee named "al Monica"?

If you were in her (Tilford) shoes, what would you have done?
To: Latina_Abogada
She did the RIGHT thing, and the sickos involved should be punished. Imagine the roles were reversed and those were OUR POWs being degraded in those pictures. Morality should not be relative. So Sadaam tortured thousands of his countrymen . . . that makes this okay or not THAT bad?

Wrong answer. Never ever condone this type of behavior amongst your juniors. Those who lack the wherewithal and even decency to give a damn about their fellow man, will be the exact same losers who frag their own forces because of some emotional tirade.
Interesting to note that this is the same British LtCol referenced as a hero who ordered a US Army Major to stand at attention while junior personnel walked by mutering insults and ignoring protocol.
These reports are highly irregular. Both might be completely false. They might also point to an arrogant command lacking wherewithal.
IMHO, both warrant an investigation within the British command structure to get to the bottom of the issue and issue appropriate orders/action.

It does smell of something amiss.

I thought that the Brits brag about how well they get along with the Iraqis and how we Americans don't know how to get along with the locals...
To: Latina_Abogada
for the indiscreet acts of a very few. Sounds like you don't think that this is that bad of a thing. I have respect for the girl and none for the perverts and punks that did this. MCD

This is a shame...this will not be tolerated in the military (US/British)...heads should roll no matter who is involved.

Two points, one plus and one minus:
The Sun is determined to do anything to undermine the Iraqi war.
The British army, regretably, has a history of forced homosexuality in basic training as a kind of initiation ritual. I won't go into the details but there has been some pretty sadistic stuff going on.

Although I believe The Sun has an agenda of its own and is using this story to fuel it, it appears the story is true... I mean, if there are pictures and they're genuine then that's irreffutable evidence of these indecent acts, acts that should not be allowed in any country, on any side of a war. These soldiers should be punished if what the pictures show actually happened, sure these were enemy soldiers but they are people too and no one deserved this kind of sadistic abuse

This is just about sex. It does not have any effect on how the soldiers do their job. They should get back to their important work for the British people. We should move on.

Why would you imply that this soldier was gay. They thought it was fun to humiliate the iraqi but all they will get out of it is more hatred for the soldiers who were there to liberate them.I feel this soldier should be charged and let the truth come out in a court of law.Shame on him.
