Supporting police is no longer a conservative position.

Cop haters also tend to be blatant liars.

Roscoe, I'm no liar, but you're a blatent loser. From the latlong on your FR page, you live in a scummy neigborhood, and you are probably working security at the mall WISHING you could go kick some doors in.

All my fact are straight. Put up or shut up.

2. I'm no liar

Self-contradiction.

It used to be a conservative position. It was in Nixon's day. But now, you have no material response to the question: Supporting incompetent, corrupt, overpaid, unionized, government leaches is a conservative position?

Or let me put it this way: Why don't we see you or any of your jackboot licking friends at freeps?

Keep digging.

The was $25,000 per $30,000 per reported serious crime in NYC.

Solution rates under 50%, and for some types of crime under 20%.

That means the averge cost of a solved crime is at or near:

$100,000

And that's not even getting to prosecution.

You call that competent?

You call that fairly compensated?

And what, if not corruption, would you find in such a bloated and incompetent bureaucracy as a big city PD?

Go on, please. There is plenty more to illustrate just how bad policing has become.

how bad policing has become

In the eyes of a cop hater?

That's "narc hater" to you, bub.

But, as always, there is more to illustrate how ineffective cops are:

Let's say one third of NYCs serious crimes are property crimes, or about 60,000 - that would be about 180 per day.

The average value of a robbery is under $1000.

So for $60,000,000 (sounds like a lot, but...) you could have three meter maids just ride around the city and write people checks for what they lost to robbers, and fire the one third of cops that should be handling that one third of crime, and NYC would save a little over $1 BILLION dollars. The $60M to compensate victims is insignificant.

Hammurabi made municipalities pay victims of crime as an inducement to perform.

NYC (and they are not the worst big city PD by far) has blown past Hammurabi's performance floor and plummeted to depths of ineffectiveness that are nearly unimaginable. But there are the numbers.

I have been married to a cop for twelve years and I have grown a thick skin when it comes to people like you.....you know, the kind who point and blame but offer no solutions and when you do offer solutions, they are totally ignorant.

I get fed up with people who bash this fine occupation and knowing that you are a teacher, I am sure you get the same thing. Our kids are not educated enough but the teacher's blame the kids, or they blame the families or even the government. When do you think teachers will start to take some responsability? I am not a teacher, but from what I have heard and seen, your profession could use alot of work.

How does that feel? Not good huh! I, unlike you don't really feel that way about teachers because I don't want to lump the bad ones in with the good ones.....but you won't even give the police profession that same courtesy. So do me a favor and get off of your soap box and pay attention to those who are closer to the issues.....

I was referring to his past posts on seperate threads and his libertarian background....deductive reasoning. Dope smokers want it both ways...they are for the law, but then they are against it when it suits them. Besides, it was my opinion. I was trying to point out his hypocrisy.

And what have I said that is incorrect?

Want respect? Do a good job.

Right now, cops do a lousy job. I wish it were otherwise.

I'm a strong supporter of three strikes and the death penalty, but both are meaningless or even harmful if cops and prosecutors are as incompetent and unproductive as they are today.

Take a look at Teacher317's posts and links. He is clearly working to change things for the better. I don't see even one excuse for teachers or schools, much less techers' unions in his posts.

Cops (and there are a few here) who are working to reform the system get respect.

Mall cop wannabes like Roscoe that fetishize SWAT teams get bitchslapped.

What you say is factually true - we do want it "both ways." But it isn't hypocrisy. The Drug War screwed up policing. Ending the Drug War is neccessary if policing is to be fixed. By the way, I'm neither a Libertarian nor a pot smoker. Nor do I take any prescription psychoactive drugs. I'm a registered Republican middle aged upper middle class white male - the archetypical Freeper.

It won't affect my choices if pot is legal, but it will lower my tax bill, and make it less likely I'll get killed in a botched raid. THOSE are mainstream conservative postions.

Well, since you insist on mistaking my conclusions for my supporting facts I'll make it simple for you: Why don't we ever see you or any of your narc friends at Freeps?

If narcs can't support a conservative position, how could it be a conservative position to support narcs?

OK...you win....all cops are bad and evil! Mabey I could get my hubby to teach me how to loot and murder little old ladies. The secret is out.....there are no good cops, only bad ones!!

One question though....if all cops are bad, then who are we supposed to call when we need help?

You are about as reasonable as your teacher friend. He blamed me for the posting of another freeper! I have learned to just say my say and leave it at that when it comes to people who can't see past there own faults. Your harsh judgement is going to continue and nothing I can say will even put a dent into that superior attitude you have.

BTW....I would love to know what kind of work you do so I could play devils advocate and put your profession under a strict microscope as you are doing with my husbands profession.....but then again, I don't like to judge people like you do. I leave that one to God!

Your aimless bile?

What percentage of America's police are the equivalent to Nazi "jackboots" according to your "facts"?
