PETA is pretty calculating. They would never use slavery for the campaigns.

You're no longer a person, but a 'human resource'.
Sorta like copper ore, but squishier.

So go ahead! It doesn't really matter! Want to screw around with everybody who comes along? That's okay, too! After all, we're all just animals, anyway! Follow your instincts! Want to get rid of someone who's not convenient, whether you discard them emotionally or physically? That's great, fine, good, acceptable. Might makes right. It's the animal kingdom, anyway! The law of the jungle. Who cares? (grunt). Urhhhhh. Where's my club?
In honor of PETA and those ALF terrorists today, I think I'm gonna grill a steak.

People should be offended by this.In todays world the only ones allowed to be "offended" are the "offenders themselves".

I don't know, PETA has sure changed me. I have sworn not to eat any Chinese Civet Cat and, probably, not any other feline species. Of, course, hunting felines down and skinning them is another story because, well, the seats in my 1956 Ford have GOT to look good.
I've also put all the material from my "Cat: The Other White Meat" collection, including all the books with recipes for cooking/serving all the endangered feline species, up for sale on eBay. All, because of PETA.

The activists have evidently employed an artist to get the message out since the message lacks logical sense. When reason fails, use emotion. Thus they give up the best tool of the socialists, reason, and divulge their true identity. They will be found lounging about Hesiod's Golden Age.

Well, there's a reason why we can't let this go, why we have to point it out and talk about it and debate it when we get the chance, and it is just this -we cannot allow ourselves to become numb to the dehumanization of humans. We are dumbing down ourselves and our children, and the irony is that we don't even realize it. As a matter of fact, not only do we not realize it, we allow it to go on and even encourage it by our silence. Is the PETA movement growing in substantive numbers of actual adherents?
I've long been of the opinion that the vast majority of these people wear their politics as just another accessory to make their ensemble' d'persona more interesting. Their message just doesn't seem to resonate with anyone for whom ideas carry consequences.
Just because a movement is big enough to be self-sustaining does not necessarily mean it is growing into a cause for concern.

Just because a movement is big enough to be self-sustaining does not necessarily mean it is growing into a cause for concern. That's what the Czar said just before they came over the gates. It's also what von Hindenberg said just before Hitler seized power.
The USSR was ruled by a cadre of communists that was a very small fraction of the total population.
Size does not matter in politics.

Equating Jews to animals was a tactic of the Nazis. Publishing pictures of holocaust victims next to animals only serves to reveal PETA for what it really is: an organization of lunatics who have absolutely no impact on any sober citizen.
I'm an absolute believer in the principle of giving people enough rope to hang themselves. I would respectfully suggest that your fine writing skills and good intentions should not be wasted on this pathetic organization.
After equating Jews to animals, what elected politician with even one ounce of awareness more than the Dixie Chicks would risk being seen with a member of PETA? Maybe Dennis Kucinich -- that tells you all you need to know about how seriously we should take PETA.
Nice column nonetheless!

I hope you're wearing rubber gloves when you skin that critter for your '56 Ford, because eating it may not have been the way SARS came about. The skinning and preparing it to cook is probably how if came about in humans.
I wish I had known about your cook book sale, I would have considered trading my "Whoooping Crane: Crock Pot Recipes for the Busy Enviro" book. Trully collectors item that a person of your elevated tastes would appreciate.
