hard to imagine a general wanting to be a Senator. But can you imagine the SCREAMS from the left? Franks would probably get around 60% of the vote too.

Neither the uninspiring Foley or the equally uninspiring McCollum have a prayer in Florida. The Republicans better come up with an attractive, well-known conservative candidate pretty darn quick. US Rep Dave Weldon, a pro-life doctor and veteran and strong conservative, is exploring a run. I think he'd be an ideal candidate, though others think he could be successfully demonized as a right-winger.

It's pretty well known in GOP circles down here that he is gay. Personally, I agree with him. It's nobody's business. Doesn't bother me what the man does in his private life.
