"I feel the citizens of Ohio need the right to protect themselves." The lady that said this didn't quite get it right.
They already have the right, they are just being denied the means.

" But the State Highway Patrol has insisted that any handgun be locked in a compartment, such as the glove box." Well, la di fricking da. I'll put my firearm in a locked glovebox when they do.

I'm guessing that we will not see CC any time soon. Not happy, just realistic...
Yea, know what you mean. For what it's worth, 2 years ago (?) here in Michigan when the shall issue bill went into effect, I had several e-mail debates with a Det. Free Press infobabe whose name I now forget since I don't read the rag. Anyway, she also was predicting doom, gloom and street shoot outs in her stupid column.
Anyway, it's now 2 years later and there has been absolutely no retraction of their statements from all the socialist naysayers who have been proven to be absolutely WRONG in their predictions!
What disgusts me the most of these socialist pigs is the fact that they have no integrity whatsoever to admit they are wrong when they have been proven to be wrong.

Just because OSU trashed their own school, destoryed private property, rioted in the streets, and stole private property after the Bowl game, doesn't mean his narrow view of crime is the same for the rest of the state.
Some corrections of your statement ...OSU did not trash their own school. The violence took place a couple of blocks away from campus in a residential area. Most of those arrested (20-3) were not students but locals who hang out around the campus. This area has had a history of problems before. However, the incident you are probably referring to took place after the victory over the University of Michig@n (last regular season game) After the National Championship game, there was virtually no trouble. I think 3 or 4 people were arrested, no fire, no riot ... etc.

I agree with passing the C&C law. It is long overdue, but I don't want to have a law like they have in Vermont. I think training and finger printing is a great idea.

If the police, and the police chiefs do not think that handguns are good self-defense tools, and necessary to protect people, then why to THEY carry them? Any cop who does not think that people need guns to protect themselves, should not be wearing one.
