You know what the funny thing about this article is? How wrong Goldstein got everything else, aside from the one angle. That the president has to shed the Shrub image gained from having strong advisers and a patriarchal dad. To my mind that suggests a man strong enough to appreciate both the strong advisers and the patriarchal dad. The bit about Mrs. Bush being strong but standing three steps behind her husband. Like she isn't exactly where she wants to be. How Algore was wussified. Algore IS a wussy. No-one had to wussify him. That the Bushies are the ones responsible for Teresa Heinz. Yeah, right. Like that pair aren't strange enough all by themselves. This article says more about the author than it does the president. And IMHO, Goldstein comes off looking a tad weird.

Well, I have truly been educated here, Belle!

The President's appearance on the aircraft carrier, and the flurry of articles about it has opened my eyes to a world I didn't know existed!

While I do like the fact that the President is getting more attention, I'm not sure that attention from those with 'alternate lifestyles' makes me feel too comfortable! And I guarantee that it doesn't make Laura too happy either!

I hadn't noticed this aspect of Bush's flight-suit photo when it first appeared. But my girlfriiend remarked on it immediately when I was asking her why women thought this picture made Bush seem to be a "hottie". In fact she asked me if I could wear one of these suits. :)
