Riri, the mainstream media can slant stories by omitting information or by putting emphasis on certain facts over other facts. However, they cannot stay in business for long if they invent stories.

Astraea Kelly is a Communist labor-party organizer under the employ of the AFL-CIO. Read my posts for some documentation on her. Watchman 123 either is her or is in contact with her when he is not selling oxidation machines.

I hope none of you are giving out your private email addresses or contact info to these people.

If there was any truth to this Kelly story it would be all over the mainstream media right now. Without a doubt it has been looked at and not reported for good reason. The sars threat is bad enough without borrowing more trouble.

"In another case, officials had to take a TB patient to court to ensure that medicines were being taken."

The bastard should have been shot on the spot for endangering national security through his selfishness.

Absolutely not, rw, and I hope you were being sarcastic. However, he may or may not have infected others by his selfishness. TB IS contagious.

In the case of possible airborne contagion in SARS, I cannot condone extreme measures either. What I wish for is treatment, which is at most supportive at this point, for everyone who may come down with the illness.

In the US, in the past, quarantine has been used effectively and may be used presently and in the future for certain illnesses, SARS included. My prayer is that those who may be quarantined understand the importance of and the purpose of such a quarantine, and adhere to it, for the protection of people such as yourself, and myself, and all of those we hold dear.

I fully agree. And I thought the story was suspect simply because of the source.

Just logic should tell someone "buyer beware".

I agree it is a fine line determining what should be posted and what should not be posted. But, if what the determining factor of what constitutes news has to come off the wire then we are subject to only getting the information that is allowed to be filtered out to the sheeple.

I haven't read your post re: this Kelly person but it looks really interesting. I haven't even seen any of this watchman123's posts but I did originally post something from the rense site. I did mull it over but in the end decided to post it. My thought is if SARS does hit, it will be through alternative sources that the rumblings will begin, IMO.

That is magic of this forum---the b.s. eventually exposed and weeded through.

It is a tough balance.

One case in Alaska, Anchorage, and the patient is isolated. One good thing: even if tourism is destroyed, it won't affect the local economy. All tourism dollars go to out-of-state interests.

I certainly hope that there is only one patient. If you get other information, please pass it on via these threads.

I agree, also. Additionally, it sent off alarm bells when she refers to it as a "sars-like" illness. Then she says she is ill with "sars-like" symptoms.

This isn't some mild illness that you can continue your daily routine and have for too long. You either have it or you don't, I would imagine.

riri, you're right, imo. News sells, and there is enough interest in SARS stories to investigate and publish if information is being withheld. That kind of information, if true, would be explosive and PUBLISHED.
