>>Let's see, what was it that the Germans did to the US? Well, they declared war on us in WWII, and then they shot back as we defended ourselves against them. Hundreds of thousands of Americans lost their lives at the hands of the Germans.<<

Oh, come on. That's history, most of the Germans living today had nothing to do with that war, and they are still paying for it, and willingly. Many would hold our own country for past sins, which I had nothing to do with, and I resent being held responsible.

Wow, Excellent research, Jeff Chandler. I am very happy to see this stamp, as I didn't know it existed.

FYR was far from Tito's experiment. The Pan-Slav movement that resulted in the creation of Yugoslavia in the immeidate post WWI period dates back to the 1800s!

Tito had nothing to do with that.

The Balkans have always been a bit diverse ~ all the way back!

You did know, of course, that today's Irish were living in Bulgaria (part of the Balkans) nearly 3,000 years ago. Leaving the neighborhood didn't quiet them down either.

>>BTW, I sure hope you celebrate Christmas on the correct day, like our family has done for several hundred years ~ you know, on Christmas Eve<<

Umm...I don't get your point, muawiyah. What does celebrating Christmas have to do with the danger imposed by important millions of Muslims into America?

>>Wouldn't want OUR culture to be adjusted by funny little foreign people. <<

Obviously, you've been offended by my views, and I am very sorry. I mean no disrespect to the individual Muslim, who is entitled to his/her religion and values. But to demand that our government and schools instill their view is rude and wrong and Americans have a right to oppose them.

When I travel to foreign countries, I learn the language culture, and customs first, so I do not offend people. I would never think of subjecting those people to MY American language or ways. After all, many countries, especially Muslim ones, believe our ways to be quite vulgar. They have a right to protect their culture, and most do so strenuously.

As for foreign-born friends, I have many, and they feel the same way I have come to feel as I do. They see the American culture they've grown to love being systematically dismantled by the diversity crowd. And they fight back, too.

Again, I am sorry if I have offended you.

risa

>>Tito had nothing to do with that.<<

Well, we have different understandings of Yugoslavian history. I appreciate your comment, however, muawiyah, as alternate views drive me to research my beliefs and revise them if I am mistaken.

Free Republic provides an awesome advantage in that one can learn a lot from other people, and keep themselves from getting stuck in a mistaken world view.

I shall get back to you on this topic.

Several years ago our neighborhood sent an Arab and a Greek out to have a sheep slaughtered for a community festival. The Arab (who was Moslem) did the job. 1/2 of the meat was given to charity. It was far in excess of our needs.

The Arab guy said a prayer over the sheep during the slaughter. I think that qualifies as an animal sacrifice.

Not sure that butchering an animal without a prayer is an improvement.

>>President Bush has just met with a German opposition leader, and Sec. Powell has spoken as long to the Chancellor as with CDU-chairman Merkel - seems as if our opposition has excellent ties with the current US Administration.<<

What good news; I was certain the mild rift between Germany and America could not last for long. Yet, lately, I have allowed my e-mail newsletters from Germany to pile up unread, so I was not aware of this news.

Open your eyes and ears. See and hear the truth.

Sorry, auggy, just because Michael Savage says something doesn't mean I accept it as the truth. Did you hear George Bush address the Arab-Americans in Michigan? They were very vocal in supporting our president.

Have you asked any American Muslims about the bombings? What did they say? Most of the Muslims I know just want to do their job and mind their own business, not go around making statements.

>>Mexican Stalinist! Frida Kahlo (who first gets subsidized by a famous Limo Leftist in New York, then a stamp, and then a white-washed propaganda movie, as part of the Left's campaign to give the Mexican immigrant community in the US leftist revolutionary icons). <<

Yes. The 'noble lie' to make immigrant groups feel good--typical Marxist behavior, and a classic tactic for spreading the diversity ideology.

These things are planned a long time in advance, and this is not a new stamp.

The Korean War Veterans Memorial is the most breathtaking of all of the memorials. Seeing it for the first time - in the light of the moon, with the holograph changing the back wall as you move along - you can feel those soldiers slogging through a swampy field, inundated with rain.

It sounds breathtaking; I hope to take it in someday. Thank you. (The stamp comes out in July, I guess. There will be a Purple Heart stamp coming out the end of this month.)

I was aware of that stamp, having seen pics of it at the postoffice. I would not use that stamp to mail any letter. I think that stamp should be "stamped out" - don't buy, protest it's issue.
