And considering the reports of cockamamie lawsuits all around the country, that we are fed daily, I don't blame you.

We are all assuming that Geraldo is doing this b/c he has some sort of secret deal with the defense. I think that's a reasonable assumption, but really, we don't KNOW that for a fact yet.

Maybe, just maybe, Geraldo is doing this only b/c he is a sensationalistic, hysterical, yellow, sleazy, excuse for a "journalist". That, also, is possible.

Hiya, Wheat! Nice day!

One thing everyone should remember is, do not leave the gasoline in your lawn mower over the winter, during the months when the machine is not in frequent use. If you do, you are going to have problems.

Mower repair specialists recommend that at the end of the season, after your last mow, you leave the mower running until all the gas in it burns itself out. There are also several excellent additives which can be used in the gasoline.

Safety goggles should always be worn when operating a lawn mower of any kind. Some persons who have walking mowers also elect to wear steel-toed boots.

Does anyone else have any lawn mower maintenance tips which they would like to share?

P.S. Lawn mower safety tips are also welcome, as we await further news on the case.

Gruesome stories of lawn mower accidents will be especially welcome.

On the subject of whether people should report suspicious-looking foreigners (re: Velveeta's question), I have a story to tell. (I can hear everyone saying, Oh goody.)

My father was foreign-born. He came to the U.S. in the 40's and became a citizen as soon as possible. During WWII he was a medical "fellow", at the Mayo Clinic which is in Rochester, MN.

That clinic draws a lot of foreign-born medical scholars, as well as a lot of our own medical scholars. You have to work hard to get a fellowship there.

One Saturday, he and two other doctors (they were also foreign-born, although not from the same country as he) decided to take a drive in the Minnesota countryside, as they were kind of bored and wanted to see what there was. My father was the type who loved to carry a camera and snap pictures of all sorts of stuff. So he had his camera.

One of the things they found to look at was a mine. I don't know if it was an active mine or not. Anyway, someone saw the three of them milling around near the mine, and saw the camera, and went over to see who they might be. And this person realized they were FOREIGNERS! So this guy, whoever he was, called the FBI!

The three of them were detained and questioned by the FBI. The reason I even know about this incident is b/c after they were determined not to be threats to national security, an article appeared in the newspaper that said, "Doctors Cleared In Mine Incident". I admit that when I read this clipping (after my father had already died), I laughed long and loud at the mental image of him having to explain himself to the FBI!

He had nothing to fear, b/c he certainly was not a spy!

If he were here today, he would tell Velveeta, "REPORT THOSE GUYS! DO IT NOW! IT'S BETTER TO ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION! IF THEY HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE, IT WON'T HURT THEM!"

Wheat, ever get an answer about the scroll about blood in truck was Scott's not Laci's? This am, on Fox, the scroll said the blood in Scott's Car was his not Laci's. Now do they mean that car he had just bought recently, or the truck?

Devil, here's a lawn mower story. The gal that used to own our house once drove her riding lawn mower halfway up a guy-wire, and the city had to come pull it back down! The poor gal was in her late 70s and had brain cancer, but insisted on mowing herself as long as she was able. I think that episode was probably the last time she mowed.

Yipes, uvular, that must have been horrible--about the lawn mower!! It wouldn't have been any fun getting down off the thing, either, after it got stuck!

I think I'd have died of embarrassment, too, if I'd been that lady! Poor soul!

On the subject of it being Scott's blood in his truck, IMO they are referring to his original truck, the one he owned at the time of the disappearance and murder. Remember when Diane Sawyer was interviewing him? For some reason he felt compelled to volunteer the information that he had "cut his hand on his toolbox" the very day Laci went missing.

He said that he had put his cut hand into the door-pocket on the driver's side of the truck.

The whole thing, and his volunteering that info as though he were covering bases--the whole thing was eerily like the story OJ told about how HIS cut on HIS knuckle came from his smashing a water glass. Coincidentally, OJ cut HIS hand just about the time HIS wife died, too! Isn't that an amazing coincidence?

Hey, and here we are, wondering if Scott killed her AND CUT UP THE BODY. And I, for one, have been forgetting that by his own admission, he turned up with a cut on his knuckle, the very day she went missing. And people who are doing a lot of work with knives, but who are not trained butchers, they quite often get cuts on their hands...
