unfortunately, teen-age girls view Kimberly as being as old as their mother. Kim will have a good career, though.

Someone should start a live thread in the chat room. I don't think this belongs in news. Plus it's embarrassing that I can't stop posting on AI! LOL

Yesterday's show was flat out terrible. None of the final three showed anything yesterday. I have most enjoyed Ruben and for my money he was off his game yesterday. Locke did virtually nothing to impress, and Clay quite simply was awful on the first song, but bounced back somewhat on the final two.
Ruben and Clay should move on to the final, but only because one has too pick the best of mediocre performances. The competition roared early on, but not seems to be whimpering to the finish.

Part of it is the arrangements. You know they're not coming up with these arrangements, so it's inately unfair.

I guess this is what geeks do when they're between Hobbit movies.

Clay is in a league of his own.
Kimberly and Ruben aren't even close.
Clay will win going away.
I also think that the judges are being overly tough on Clay. I'm not sure why, but I suspect it's because Clay has been receiving landslide votes eaqch week, and they are trying to make it more of a contest.

Yeah, I think everyone involved with that movie is gonna be embarrassed. The clip they showed of it several weeks ago was one of the cheesiest things I've EVER seen.

Last night, for the first time, Ruben's voice started sounding old-hat to me. He sounds great on some stuff, like A WHOLE NEW WORLD back on the movie theme show, but it's weird now; his voice is starting to wear on my nerves. I'm liking Kimberley's more all the time, and I've always liked Clay's. One of the neat things with Clay too IMHO is the radical change in the whole package, from pure nerd to pure cool. (Yeah, I know a few still think he's pure nerd, but the folks I've heard mention him for the most part think he's now ultra-cool.)

thanks for the graphic---well, let's start it off the news board!!
I say we go live tonight for the elimination show. Except my computer/tv situation might not support my participation.

I think Simon said it best when he said the only person left to vote off is Ryan Seacrest. I hate to see Ruben go but personally, I am torn between Clay and Kimberly with a heavy leaning toward Clay to win.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Kimberly because she really sounds like she is from exactly where she is from, which is a small area of north central Tennessee, where I am from. She's great too but there is no denying that Clay is the natural born winner.

Ruben has been sounding "old hat" for a while. He has a beautiful voice, but it's a "been-there-done-that" voice...sounds exactly like Vandross, Bryson, etc. Last night there were some obvious overuse cracks showing up in his pitch.
That said, I think he wins. I saw Seacrest interviewed and he spilled the beans that all the judges are pulling for Ruben because they think he'll make the best "pop" album, and apparently Ruben is getting some sort of publicity the others aren't - not sure what that's about.
IMHO, Clay is the most talented singer with the best potential for longevity, but maybe not in the pop scene. Kimberly is a close second. I would put Ruben at third simply because he has not shown any range, or versatility..but he does have a "cuddly" quality that will probably get him the title and could actually be a very postive role model for the MTV generation - he can actually carry a tune! LOL

Last week's Ruben blowout in the USA Today poll looking more like an aberration, doncha think? Or did his voters just overcompensate for the week before? Or maybe backlash against the show's shameless promos for him?
Did anyone else notice how much they had toned that crap down last night, BTW? Seacrest didn't do the Rooooooooben crap once, just intro'd him like everyone else. Wonder why?

Reuben may win, but he'll never go anywhere. He sounds almost as good as half the black singers I've ever heard.

Will the show be on at the same time in ALL the time zones?

That said, I think he wins. It's blatantly obvious how they've pushed him for the win, almost from the start, but I don't know that they're gonna be able to sway the public, and I don't think they'll go outright corrupt and take a chance of ruining a TV phenom that's making them shiploads of cash.
Did you notice, BTW, how they toned down the Ruben favoritism last night? Seacrest didn't do the ROOOOBEN thing not once, and the judges did not fawn over him like they have almost every other week. Even Randy Jackson was a wee bit negative on him. That was really surprising since Randy was the one making the talk show circuit unabashedly promoting him.

Did you notice last night how Ruben was pouring sweat after his third song? I'm afraid the big guy might have a heart attack if he has to sing a full concert.
I hope last week's USAToday poll was an aberration, I really do.

I have wondered if Reuben could do a concert without taking a seat for a few minutes between each song!

Howlin! Hey, girl!
I don't know how the time zone thang works. I've wondered how that affects voting, too.

Tuesday night was "Lucky", best new show on TV.
