>>>What do you mean..."fingerprinting" guns?<<<
I did not explain this at the start of my last message. I did explain it at the end, but maybe no one read that far.
Guns could be "fingerprinted" just like everyone else, you just say, "give me your paw."
Well, I am no gun expert. I assume there is at least one gun expert here. The barrels of guns evidently leave distintive marks on the bullets that exit each particular barrel. So the manufacturers could just test each gun barrel that they manufacture and put it into a computerbank before the gun barrel is sold as part of a gun.
They have some bullets already from the sniper shooting going on in Ohio. With a computerbank of tested gun barrels they could go find the guy that is causing the problem.

The barrels of guns evidently leave distintive marks on the bullets that exit each particular barrelIt is quite evident that you know nothing with regard to guns. Take a "fingerprint" of a gun at the factory & look at that same gun after a few rounds have been shot through it. You would not be able to tell which is which. Further, IF I wanted, I could simply change the barrel immediately after purchase, there by rendering the original "fingerprint" utter useless....so what good is it other than a"feel good" devise.

THAT, my friend is wishful thinking...Maryland & New York have had this "fingerprinting" in place for more than 10 years and it has solved ZERO murders. ZERO. Still like the idea of it?

Either way, I question weather you are a NRA member at all.
I noticed area51 departed the thread in silence after you nailed him. Great post. I too am sick and tired of the attacks on the NRA from the whiners. I suspect there is a lot of vested interests who look at the membership and support dollars going into the NRA and who think why not get a slice of that pie. But, they have to attack the NRA instead of building an organization on its own merits. I am a proud NRA member and thankful we have it. Everyone who can afford it should buy Wayne's new book to get it up the best seller list...
