Think the media will tear into the Assembly of God church because of the Texas woman that killed her kids? I'd bet they would if she was Catholic.
RU kidding? They as much as implied that that was exactly why she 'had' to kill the children.
Hey Christians: We need to hang together or we're all going to hang separately!

There's just no pleasing you, is there? LOL
First you complain because Catholicguy was banned:
"To: Jim Robinson; Admin Moderator ...
CatholicGuy was banned because he too is an outspoken, conservative, and thoughful Catholic, just as I too was banned in the past. .."

website that your friend, "Catholicguy" recommended to us. (See Catholicguy's recommendations below):

"<>. Link to column (with sources provided)that blows away Colin Powell's fog of war rationale that, sadly, obscured the truth before our eyes.(The greater one's sources of news the fewer the times one exposes themselves to being legitimately labelled galactically ignorant).<>

<> Link to former CIA officer's analysis of Iraq War. I pray that others, currently in the CIA,FBI, Military, ect begin talking. The wars between the intelligence community and the Bushies is getting serious. Their intelligence is being politicised by this Chiliastic cretin and the resulting internecine war is burting through to public consciousness<>

Aside from your vendetta against Polycarp, do you have anything to add?
To: conservonator
"Still nothing...[cough, cough]" I just report the historical facts --- readers can decide if they're "nothing". Hahahaha

Keep trying, I'm enjoying this immensely. Why not ping Jim Robinson too as you chase and harass me all over the Forum? If he feels your retread posts of my words are worthy, he'll ban me.
I'm sure there are other things I've said that you could excerpt here. Try this thread: [PleaseReadBeforeJudging] Why Only Catholicism Can Make Protestantism Work: Bouyer on Reformation
I said lots of harsh things there.
The rest of the threads where I said "really bad" things are linked at the bottom of my profile page. Feel free to search there for more embarassing "really bad" things I've said.
But don't expect me to retract any of them.

Again, I ask, and for the last time: how do any of your posts on this thread detract from the thesis of the article that this thread is based on? Personal vendettas usually don't detract from a general thesis.
So you probably should not expect any substantive answer.

"Again, I ask, and for the last time: how do any of your posts on this thread detract from the thesis of the article that this thread is based on?" "Detract from the thesis"??? On the contrary -- my posts of Polycarp's comments back up and reinforce the author's thesis. Where have you been???
The authur's complaints are no different than the complaints Polycarp has been making against Jim Robinson, the moderators and Free Republic in general.
The thread title: "Anti-Catholicism in the U.S.: A hate much loved and lied about"
The complaint voiced in the article is:
"..there prevails today ... rampant, forceful, shameless and largely uncriticized anti-Catholicism."
The complaint voiced by Polycarp:
"..This Forum as well as certain of its moderators (and possibly Jim Robinson himself?) have an unapologetic anti-Catholic bigoted bias. ...They will tolerate any sort of anti-Catholic bigotry, leave the most vile anti-Catholic reports in the News forum/Breaking News sections, and banish anything in which Catholicism is seen in a positive light to the Religion Forum ghetto, but they draw the line when us Papists get uppity. Jim Robinson, you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing this bigoted anti-Catholic censorship on your Forum. ... You should know better. You should do better. Reign in your bigoted anti-Catholic moderators. ..."
Why do you think Polycarp started this thread in the first place? It's just round 1,000 in his continuing diatribe. Hahahaha

The authur's complaints are no different than the complaints Polycarp has been making against Jim Robinson, the moderators and Free Republic in general. So the fact that I've made these complaints on this small, conservative forum ... means that the author's thesis, "..there prevails today ... rampant, forceful, shameless and largely uncriticized anti-Catholicism" is wrong? Heck, you haven't even proven MY posts to Jim Rob were wrong, despite Jim Rob's protestations to the contrary.
Yet you desire to extrapolate from my words here on this small "conservative" forum to a refutation of this author's thesis?
Oh...OK...now we see your "logic"...
Keep trying, Matchett. This is a hoot!
Surely there's some even better quotes of mine you could post?
You are blinded by your hate filled bigotry, and making a fool of only yourself.

So, you agree with the author, great! I'll make sure I keep your post handy for the next time someone, maybe you claim that there is no anti-Catholicism only whiney Catholics.
Thanks

No offense taken. I used to feel ashamed of my church but I belong to a very unique Episcopal parish here in Houston and, as I've said, I intend to make my stand here. I'm a cradle Episcopalian and I returned to the church of my youth four years ago when I realized that the EC had never done anything bad to me and I loved the feeling of having a lifelong connection. Our church is a dynamic blend of high church (spiky) liturgy and anglo-catholicism, with a strong sense of mission, evangelism, and mysticism. It is a 'fellowhip of excitement' and we pray that we may be a model for the rest of our church. We don't presume to think that Anglicanism is the only way to God, but we do believe that there is a sense of tradition and reverence within the robe of individual dignity, and a sense of graciousness within our church that is wonderful and should be maintained for future generations. The diabolical bishop spong was forced to retire. I don't know what to do about the apostate griswold. I would like to see our parish reduce our contribution to the diocese by the amount that goes to the national episcopate, but I don't see that happening.

Too bad one cannot extrapolate from FR to the general media. Among the general media, as the author points out "..there prevails today ... rampant, forceful, shameless and largely uncriticized anti-Catholicism"
But not everyone on this Forum is the type of hate filled anti-Catholic bigot so exquisitely represented by Matchett.
