Specifically, the pharmacist was approached by two of the hijackers for salve or balm to treat reddened, inflamed hands. The pharmacist's analysis of the skin condition was that the hands had been immersed in bleach, as if in an attempt to disinfect them.
A third hijacker went to an emergency room to get treatment for a lesion on his leg, ostensibly created by tripping over a piece of luggage. Anti-biotics were prescribed. Subsequently, the doctor concluded that the lesion was almost certainly cutaneous anthrax -- a diagnosis which did not occur to him at the time.

The kicker in this article is the word "might" drain. If the find is for real is there any doubt they would drain the pond, or pull out everything?
As for the statement whether the FBI is "fixated", maybe it's the Justice Dept, or factions. Remember back almost a year ago an early -post Senate staffer story said that there was "two investigations" - I speculated one was the original, and one focusing on Hatfill.

On second thought, there may be bio-war related items in the pond. It's near Fort Detrick. Indeed, every pond should be drained. Ya know how the govt. lower levels get rid of stuff to expensive to treat properly...matter a fact disposal business is "shady" in the private sector too.
