Well, fine then. I hope you don't own a pet.

Bye, Slick! I hope you find better things to fret about in the future.

You totally missed the point of my response. I should have explicited said that your post was merely babbling irrelevance.

I would read more about the ASPCA before I tried to characterize a supporter's ideology.

Well, that certainly seems like a reasonable thing to do, and I believe it is precisly the purpose of the thread.

In other words, "ASPCA" might be more indicative than "Bush."

Well, now, I guess I did misunderstand you.

I just assumed that you were affirming the right of the parents' authority of these young women over the (ignorant) rantings of Slick against them.

Excuse me.

Oh....btw, there's nothing irrelevant about stating that it's not Slick's business if Lauren Bush goes to an ASPCA meeting....... and I haven't babbled in years. :o)

Lauren Bush at Animal Magazine's 'Paws for Style' benefit for the NY ASPCA.

She could give me paw anytime!

I just assumed that you were affirming the right of the parents' authority of these young women over the (ignorant) rantings of Slick against them.

What in the world do Lauren Bush's parents have to do with anything (other than the fact that their own ideology may have influenced their daughter's?) Your claim that the poster is somehow "superceding the parents' rights to blah blah blah" seems to be the best example of babble that one could ever hope to find. No one is telling anyone (much less demanding Constitutional legislation to dictate) when or how hard they ought to spank/rebuke/ground their children.

The whole point of this thread is that public figures ought to be held accountable for their actions and associations, not idolized based on their party affilition or last name. This is about having the willingness to actually make the effort to observe and then assess what people say and do.

I happen to really like George W Bush and he certainly seems to be the best of the bunch, but the truth of the matter is that that isn't saying a whole lot.

Is that the whole point of this thread? Really???

I guess that's where you and I disagree.

And I'm guessing you don't want to know what I think the point of the thread is, because you, by your own admission, don't like the whole "bunch."

(And I repeat.... I have never babbled).

I would love to read a coherent statement from you concerning the point of this thread.

Granted, to the best of our knowledge, no Bush has ever murdered a campaign supporter at Chappaquiddick, or raped a campaign supporter in a Little Rock hotel room. But for those very sorts of reasons, we, of all people, should be profoundly suspicious of dynasty-worship

Well, I'm not sure you'll find me 'coherent,' since we obviously come from opposing points of view, but this 'concluding' paragraph in Slick Willard's post #24 sums up pretty well where he's coming from in posting it......and it's in his words, not mine.

The Bush 'dynasty,' while not murdering rapists, are highly suspect, as are those who 'worship' them (....no one I know around here does, btw).

The Bush girls are all troublemakers (same post), and Lauren's appearance at the (benign) ASPCA somehow proves to the poster that she should be viewed with suspicion as well, and it somehow serves as a 'red flag' to him.

Conclusion.......when you don't like people named Bush, you try to make something out of absolutely nothing to prove that they are 'bad' people, and that those who respect them, are somehow misguided.

That's the purpose in posting this thread.

The Bush boys seem to be continuing on with loyalty/support to their family, knowing they were raised right, but you are right with the Bush girls for the most part in that the twins are hanging with the Hollyweird crowd, all starry eyed in making decisions that show lack of judgment-people such as P. Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Craig Kilborn, John Cusack, U2, attempting to use their status as Bush's girls to get in with Madonna apparently. The underage drinking and apparent living it up with the bad crowds will continue to expose them to stories that make it to the papers and show how they find it more appealing to be around people who are anti-their father, family than to be seen with their father and showing loyalty and pride in their father. And Lauren and the modeling crowd-and particularly that stint she had on Friends with none other than Jennifer "FI" Aniston who called her uncle a "fu**ing idiot" and other nasty comments. And that crowd is not the most conservative or friendly towards their family either.

Local SPCA'a are independent of the ASPCA and are more inclined toward true animal welfare. The HSUS is going a little wacko and getting more and more into "animal rights".

When I worked at the SPCA here a volunteer changed the marquee to an anti veal message and it was promptly removed.

What's wrong with the ASPCA? This is hardly PETA...what a silly premise for a posting headline.

Very true. And even if she were a card carrying PETA member I do not think it would say anything about President Bush or his values.

I have siblings who have completely different values and beliefs than I. I am sure that the majority of my nieces and nephews are liberal because most kids are liberal.

You are W-A-A-Y-Y too involved in the personal lives of the Bush family.

You're either an obsessed celebrity-worshipper, or you're stalking them.

And your obvious anger at things they do that you don't like is downright scary!

Somebody ought to watch you. Closely.

You are really sick. If you think for one second our president can or even wants to control every aspect of his extended family's lives, you are on something.

since when are the sins of the niece, sisiter-in-law, brother, the responsibility of Dubya? What on earth can he do about any of it? Why should he even try? They're all adults, they have mothers and fathers. Get a life.

>>since one of the things those wackos get up in arms about is cosmetics testing.<<

I strongly believe that it is wrong to carry out very painful tests on mammals for human vanity. Have you ever seen a rabbit existing for weeks on end with a massive, festering open wound covering it's side, or in it's eye, while more and more toxin is applied until it dies (LD50 tests?).

To me the people who would engage in this activity for cosmetics are sick.

risa

>>But, Slick this whole post begs the question........are you FOR cruelty to animals, or are you just hostile toward anyone with the last name Bush? <<

I am glad you asked; I am puzzled, too.
