Funny. Because this sounds exactly like my 20th class reunion. Only all the drop outs and pot heads, who crashed our party were WHITE! It was truly a pity to see how little these promising WHITE people had accomplished in their lives. They looked old and haggard, had spent time in jail, had no jobs, and some had children by several different people, whom they were never married to. These white folks were welfare parents and criminals as well! Of course they didn't go to any of the social events, but the cocktail party...at which these white men and women were rude, loud and rowdy...getting in fights and finally being thrown out.
I submit that immorality, drug abuse and criminal behavior is not limited by race! It seems to be characterized by intense self-centered feelings and laziness, whose fruit is ignorance and pays the dividend of poverty.

This is a free country
And I jolly well mix and socialize with whoever I chooses
Do we have to have a racial quota everytime we have a social gathering???????
Common, already
To: ThirstyMan
Sure looks like we have a strong "white only" contingent among the FR membership, sorry to say.
How do you know the color of my skin? Sounds you are the one with a "race problem". For your information, my home is Congo (that is BLACK Africa in case you don't know). I lived there until 1977. Don't assume so much, it's safer.
BTW, "freedom of association" is the same thing as "freedom from association" - otherwise it is not freedom. Freedom is superior to some concocted modern "race" theory that still sees the color of a person's skin all the while claiming to be "inclusive".

What part of Private non-school sponsored, paid for privately Party do you not understand. If I think you are ugly, I don't have to invite you to the party doesn't matter what color you are. If you show up, I should call the cops and have you evicted.
To: ZULU
duh, the school did not sponsor either prom, because they didn't have the money, and didn't want the liability.
So... It was a private party.
To: 4NOMOREGORE
Wait until a prom is exclusive to heterosexuals, that will be an event worth noting!
Check out this old story.

Your discussion about the black church interested me.
I was invited to, and attended, a black church service by a friend. This was in Mississippi.
I was treated warmly, as an honored guest, as were the black non-members who attended the service. I felt no stigma to being a white man in the church; no one asked why I was there. I did feel the warmth of being surrounded by loving Brothers and Sisters in Christ, although they did have a more free-wheeling type of service than I am accustomed to.
Many "white" churches could learn a lot from their example of how to treat visitors.

If you are a white, Democratic politician you would be warmly received at this church. Otherwise, you would not be welcomed--by the preacher. Half the congregation would probably welcome you.
This church is an extension of the NAACP. Members of the congregation complain about him talking politics before elections but they stay because most of them were there before him. His father-in-law started the church.

O'Reilly stated the school sponsored the event. Was he in error?

He was wrong! Duh back at you, might try reading glasses. And not take everything Hubcaps says as true.
