Looks like I finally have something in common with all you quixotic Libertarians out there. We both have Al Sharpton for an ally.

It's disgusting that one of the reasons given for maintaining the drug laws is that it keeps prisons in business and helps local economies... what kind of a society thinks in those terms and treats people as property of the state?

Don't get me wrong. I do appreciate it and wish for you to continue to do so.

I still need coffee this morning...a little grumpy.

This is the first time I have ever heard this argument. If, indeed it has ever been used, it is way down the list. Meanwhile you guys exploit every special interest victim you can think of in your crusade to get weed legal.

"...you guys exploit every special interest victim you can think of in your crusade to get weed legal."

Perhaps, it should not have to be that way. However, one thing that is certain is that imprisoning another individual for possessing a flower from God's garden is not a natural right. 'Natural Rights' are those rights granted by God to mankind and which governments are erected by mankind in order to protect. It is NOT for governments to protect us from ourselves or from sin. In the very first book, first chapter, of the Bible it clearly states that FOOD was granted by God. Therefore, it is every one's right to partake of whatever Gifts of God one may chose.

GOD MADE HERB
GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD
GOD GAVE IT TO MAN

Genesis 1:11
Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so.

Genesis 1:12
And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:29
And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.

What, special interests,"non-viloent criminals in Jail for small amount of weed.
get real, putting someone in jail who violates nobody else's rights ..
Makes perfectly illogical sense to me....

putting someone in jail for breaking the law makes perfect sense to me. But take comfort in the fact that the Good Reverend agrees with you. So does that wacko who posted ahead of you.

Would you have turned in runaway slaves if you were alive in that time period?

Is there actually a list of pro-WoD arguments? All I've ever heard from the 1980s until today has been a demonization campaign. I would love to see this list.

I personally don't care about any of the special-interest folks. What I do care about is the horrible waste of tax money, the cruel injustice of imprisoning people, the excessive sentences imposed by law, and the demise of all the protections of the 4th, 5th, 9th, and 10th Amendments to the Constitution. That's my list.

But take comfort in the fact that the Good Reverend agrees with you.

And take comfort in the fact that Louis Farrakhan agrees with your stance on the War on Drugs.

Not a personal attack. Just an observation. Stoners like yourself advocating legalized drugs are self-obsessed nutjobs who live in a world inhabited by exactly one person.
