Good thoughts. Snail mail has a much larger impact. Use the format as a guide, do not copy it in full. It is better for the congressmen to realize how deep this affects people in the grass roots.

Lets stop this nonsense in the Congress!

"Senator Stalin? Is this for real?"

Hah-hah! No. My senators in FL are Bill Nelson and Bob Graham. Not that they wouldn't love to be like Stalin if they were given the option. Graham especially.

Yeah, just like last time!
Oh, wait. It passed last time, didn't it. Never mind.
Pardon my pessimism.

Concerning the "1994 Crime Bill" wherein this "assault weapon ban" was implemented...No Title Given
Snip..."This bill is centrist and bipartisan to its very bone," he told members of the International Convention of B'nai B'rith in Chicago via satellite.
Snip...The existing crime bill was passed by the House 235-195 on Sunday, with 46 Republicans supporting it.

And if memory serves the Republicans had the majority in both houses in 1994...

When the uslessness of actions deigned to persuade representatives to vote as their constituents desires is fully recognized as fruitless, then, and only then, will Americans really wake up and smell the coffee. G_d help us, for the battle is fully joined.
"This bill is centrist and bipartisan to its very bone."

It was the 103rd Congress that passed the bill, but there was a pledge to do away with the bill that was never fulfilled.

Straight from the horses mouth...
U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES VOTING RECORDS ON KEY GUN ISSUES (1988-2002)
9. Repeal of the Assault Weapons Ban (104th Congress, 3/22/96): H.R. 125, "The Gun Crime Enforcement and Second Amendment Restoration Act of 1996." In response to pressure by the National Rifle Association, Republican Leadership finally agreed to hold a vote on the repeal of the federal assault weapon ban originally passed in the 1994 crime bill. A NO vote supported The Brady Campaign's position to keep the ban in place. The bill passed 239-173.
10. Final Passage of Crime Bill (103rd Congress, 8/21/94): The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, containing a ban on semi-automatic assault weapons and a ban on juvenile possession of handguns. A YES vote supported The Brady Campaign's position. The bill passed 235-195. It was signed into law by President Clinton on September 13, 1994 (P.L.103-322).
11. Assault Weapons Ban (103rd Congress, 5/5/94): H.R. 4296 (Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act) that bans the manufacture, transfer, or possession of semi-automatic assault weapons. This measure is similar to the amendment to the Senate-passed crime bill, sponsored by Senator Dianne Feinstein. A YES vote supported The Brady Campaign's position. The bill passed 216-214.

Mate, all it is going to take is for everybody who had a passionate opinion on the AWB threads here to write just one letter. So let's keep bumping your initiative, to every RKBA supporter on the site? I'll go through some AWB threads tomorrow for screen names. Cheers, By

bfl 1994 Weapons ban is maybe the most rediculous legislaioon I've seen. It does nothing but enhance government.

The dems had control in 1994. They lost in the 94 elections and took control in 95.

I already called awhile back and talked to my congressman in person.

Unfortunatly, I have Senator Stalin here as well. Carl Lenin and Debbie Stabusall. At least Mike Rogers is good.

The dems had control in 1994. They lost in the 94 elections and took control in 95.
And?
Yet, they've failed to repeal the Assault Weapons Ban (103rd Congress, 5/5/94): H.R. 4296 (Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act) since then.
Way to go guys in making my point for me!

Well, the house did vote to repeal it. The Senate on the otherhand was blocked because Bob Dole refused to allow it on the floor.

The NRA refused to endorse Dole. Klinton got a 2nd Term.
