But again, the animals would have to read it, and that is cruelty, if you want my opinion.

Military is the only institution teaching manners any more. That and the Boy Scouts and they're trying to kill them.

A million thanks to you, Fred, for posting this excellent article...to you, Howlin, for the ping to it; and to the embedded reporter who wrote it, my heartfelt thank you for sharing this beautiful and truthful first-hand account. To all our troops, eternal thanks.

WOW! I could read articles like this all day. Thanks.
Howlin, again, you ping me to the best stuff.

Thank you so much for the ping, Pukka_Puck!!!!
This article in a primary conservative American newspaper praising our soldiers does so without casting a single slur on the soldiers of our allies. Which doesn't surprise me at all! Post #29 on this thread also expresses admiration and appreciation for the soldiers of our Allies.
I love reading articles like this about our troops. They tell truths that we've always known, and that professional reporters in past wars until Viet Nam knew, too, reporters like Ernie Pyle.
However you got hold of this, FredMertz, thank you for posting it.

The embedded reporters have done something magnificent. They have shown the American public the true nature of their soldiers. No American in good faith will ever believe any of their troops could ever be "baby killers".
The Fox news reports were extraordinary in their personalization of the troops and their willingness to let the troops say hi to a loved one at home. They all made us proud and as a Vietnam vet I feel vindicated. If only the reporters there had gotten out of Saigon once in a while, this story would not have been "news" now.
Our troops have always been brave, full of compassion and suckers for the local kids.
