You confuse me.
You state the bible is a book of many things, then cite examples which are in direct opposition to the sciences you cite. Or something.
water to wine is not "chemistry" it is alchemy.
walking on (liquid) water is not "physics" it is physically impossible.
God creating an earthquake is not geology, it is superstition.
The 40 yr flood is not meteorology, it is mythology.
The bible is good for you. Leave it at that and don't try to make it out to be more than it is. I'd rather our publicly funded scientists spend our money and their time on science... not hokum.

The Ozarks are in the bible belt, and I'd be willing to be most who live there are adherents to the christian creation myth.
And I thought your posts were simply nonsensical, but now you've shown them to be just plain wrong.

You hear about the child that made a paper airplane and sailed it out the window somewhere on the east coast last March
landed in Diego Garcia as a B-2 SPIRIT STEALTH BOMBER.

The Bible does not offend me. Nor does the Torah nor the Koran nor the Upanishads nor the Norse mythologies nor hieroglyphics depicting Ra for that matter. They all provide(d) comfort to millions over the years. And that's fine.
As for the "divinely inspired" part, that's what you choose to believe... again, fine. I choose not to believe that part, which is why I'm not christian. Again, fine. The "divinely inspired" part is why your beliefs are great for church and home, but not a public school or scientific realms. Once that's established (and it may very well be for you) then we move on to discussing evolution. Again, fine.
I am not making fun of your beliefs, merely pointing out that the water to wine et. al. stuff is simply not science. They are "miracles" which, to the believer, fall outside the realm of physics. There is but one documentation of water to wine, and it's 2000 years old. You choose to accept that, I don't. Again, fine.
As for the bible outlining "thing to come," I have a fundamental problem with this claim. Please tell me one thing BEFORE it happens that the bible tells you, and I promise, I'll be front and center at church on Sunday. (Methinks my sunday morning coffee appointments are safe).
As for me needing more laughter in my life, perhaps you are correct. (we all do, right?) Please explain again your idea of Plate tectonics in the face of the *obviousness* of what has recently been determined as "Intelligent Drift theory." I'll get a good chuckle.

I have not discussed ANYTHING regarding MY religion with you. You certainly have.

If only you knew.
It is NOT baseless, it is based on facts that are easily verifiable.
It will be fun to watch your church collapse as the Messiah comes to power. Should be LOTS of fun.
I don't expect it in the next few months, but it should be occurring within the next 4 years. The political situation is ripe for him to show up again, although it is NOT Jesus, but his descendants. Yes, He was married, and had children, quite a few as a matter of fact.
Like I said, it's going to be fun to watch.

It is my strong contention that science, and all its tenets, is an important part of conservatism. We consider ourselves more knowledgable and educated (well, we are) and this is all part of that. The minority of YEC's in our world do us an injustice, and make for easy ridicule from the left.

Well stated. That is also my position.

As has been stated here a million times, scientific debate is not meant for public spectacle. Truth be told, it's a tedious, boring exercise detailing minute facts, written out over tens of thousands of pages in hundreds of texts, journals, online resources, museum placards, etc.

RE: fossils on different continents.
Your acceptance of their existence begs a better question: Why do they exist at all?
Fossils do not form easily. They are exceedingly rare, and often incomplete. Ocean dwelling fish swim. populations move, land and ice bridges form and disappear. So of course fossils from closely related species appear around the earth. So what?
At any rate, once a population got to a geographically isolated area, it then started its own branch on the evolutionary tree.
