I liked Al Franken way back in the day on SNL when he did that thing where he wanted everyone in America to each send him one dollar ...

" I wish I could remember everything this guy said,"
I recall Brian saying that Shep came over to the Fox and Friends table and said that Franken was out of control at the other table, ranting at Alan-sounded like he was rounding up the cavalry. Brian then went to the second table and got into it,verbally, with Franken. Brian said he thought punches were going to be thrown, but, the whole brouhaha was just verbal.Too bad Col Hunt wasn't there to deck Franken.

...so when we embark on all these discussions on whether what people say politically really makes a difference on how people view their "ART" I think they forget the emotional and physical reactionsExcellent point.
I have had somewhat less of a liking for Pearl Jam songs lately. It's nothing conscious - - just a nag in the back of my mind, and I switch the radio station. I also change the TV channel when I see Alec Baldwin's or Julia Roberts' face. Barbra Streisand downright repulses me.
I think that the reaction of many people to "stars" who have deliberately and clumsily stumbled into goofy left-wing politics may be subtle, but it is definitely there. You would think that their handlers could find a way to shut these "stars" up for their own good.

It's odd that Franken feels he must yell to get everyone's attention:
Hcould merely have said, "Rush Limbaugh wants to you think about how well Clinton's military did in Iraq."
By formulaically interjecting the name Rush Limbaugh, people wmight be attracted to what Franken has to say.

Last year it was Ozzie.Well at least Ozzie was on his best behaviour last year. Even got up and blew a kiss to GWB when he mentioned his name. His wife saw to it that he behaved.

Can we stop with the demonizing? The guy is just a knucklehead liberal. He isn't psychotic or drug-addled. Drudge on his radio show strongly suggested that he ran into a bad ice cube and spoke of seeing Franken bobbing and weaving down the corridor.
Al Franken was probably a charter member of the SNL writing staff with his partner. He was one of those clowns who would hobnob with the World's Perfect Couple during the Renaisance Weekends whenever they occurred. He'd been doing that with them for a long time I guess and lost his head when they laid claim to Ultimate Authority. Letting power fall into the hands of mere mortals is kind of hard...

Which he stole from Soupy Sales. The moron hasn't ever had an idea of his own, worth a wooden nickle.

Clinton's military did pretty well in Iraq, huh? Those food stamps did wonders to suppliment the diet of Clinton's infantry.

"Clinton's military did pretty well in Iraq, huh?" Oh please, this is so laughable.

Wolfowitz's response? "F*** you." So he said . . .
"Franken you!"
Good response.

Wolfowitz's response? "F*** you." LOL!
I'll bet that example of rapier-like wit came right off the top of his head!

"Which he stole from Soupy Sales"
LOL, you're absolutely right about this! W stole it too! Remember, when he said he wanted all the little children in America to send $1 to the little Afghanistani children? Omigod, Hubby and I had a fit about that.
Poor Al, if he wasn't drunk, or high, he must be losing it. You don't go to an affair like that to have policy disuputes, polite or otherwise.
Always go the the Christmas party, never get drunk at the Christmas party. This is one of the rules.

I'd love to see Franken and Alan Colmes in a fight. I think it would look like a slap fight between PeeWee Herman and the Chuckie Cheese mouse.
I really do think Colmes is a classy guy for a liberal. He argues his position, but doesn't resort to the attacks and insults that the left generally employ.
To: jocon307
What Soupy actually said, long, lonmg ago, was that everyone watching ( meaning children ) should go get the green paper in daddy & mommy's wallets and send it in to him. So, yes, W
did purloin this " act " too.
Franken is deranged; no to mention unfunny !
Since I don't drink much alcohol, ever, I've NEVER been drunk at a Christmas party...nor anywhere else, for that matter. LOL

>Can we stop with the demonizing? No. Demonizing some liberals is the only way to discipline them. They don't have the intellectual faculties to process constructive criticism. Plus, it's good sport.
Personally, I would like to find the specific criticism that gets under Franken's skin. Is it his weight, his age, his physical appearance, his unfunny skits on SNL, his failure as a stand-up comedian, his eyesore of a wife? OK, I made the last one up. I don't know what she looks like. In any case, it would be good to throw all at him, see which he reacts to (then we know what his sore spot is), and then harp on that to his face for the rest of his life.

Very obviously his sore point his loss of power. His tenuous attachment to the Seat of Power is gone and he's scared so much that he acts out in public.

Rumor was that Michael "Lumpy Riefenstahl" Moore-on was going to be the left's surprise guest. I guess that Al Koholic had to try his best to impersonate Mike.
