It may be time to pick the state but it ain't time to move there yet.
Depending on which state is picked [I have land, my granddad's old Homestaed Act tract, in one, near another, and a job offer in a nearby third] I may make my relocation within 30 days of the announcement of which state gets the nod.
A couple of those in the East would take a bit longer, as would Alaska. In the meantime, I have my own vote in the matter to cast, and on 01 October, the result will be announced.
No, not quite time for me to move. But I am packing.
What state is at the bottom of the list for you?

What state is at the bottom of the list for you?
Wyoming is top of my list, followed closely by Montana, with South Dakota or Idaho very much in the *Okay by me departments* based both on personal circumstances like housing and job prospects, as well as the political effect of 20K porcupines, the number of counties in the states under consideration, transportation infrastructure, and other factors.
The really hard-driving efforts of New Hampshire's proponents [known as *Hampsters* in some FSP circles] have impressed me, they've got a great and hard-working combination of those already resident there and those so inclined. One other Western proponent has made a detailed survey of the prospects there, and was brought around to their way of thinking, they've scored an endorsement from the state's sitting governor, and the NH primary offers interesting political leverage. It's my top choice of the Eastern possibilities, followed by Vermont as a possible second, though the numbers there are nowwhere nearly as much to our advantage.
North Dakota or Alaska might be possible, but I'd expect it to be at least a decade-long effort in either of those two locales, not that that would necessarily stop me. Delaware strikes me as a place less likely to offer success [only 3 counties, for one thing] though possible.
So in short, Wyoming, Montana and New Hampshire are way up there, with Alaska, Idaho, South Dakota and Vermont as possibles and North Dakota, Delaware and Maine as maybes. My ballot's arrived but I've not voted yet; I'm going to try to clear my desk and check all the available info and updates before I do, and with the added responsibility that I won't only be choosing for myself but also for 3 other porcupines of the 15,000 to follow- if I choose wisely. -archy-/-
Don't be sorry. It's a good reminder that I'm not just voting for myself and fellow porkypines right now, but also for those who'll hopefully be jumping on the bandwagon as we pick up a little downhill speed.
Lookout below, 'cause here we go!

Mine arrived Friday, I think, I was away from home over the weekend, and it was in with my Monday morning mail- I hadn't checked on my return Sunday night.
They got my address slightly wrong, maybe just someone's trranscription typo, maybe even mine. But I wouldn't be surprised if yours shows this week, and if not here by Friday, I'd suggect that would be a good day to shake the trees a bit.
