If Bush hires Mary Matlin to run his campaign, then I'll be worried.

Boy, that's a tough one, Luis......
I'm sure they're all taking their time to think about it before they make their choice. ;o)

Wait a minute....... if the Dims solidify 'their base' they become too liberal and lose the election (which is precisely what they seem to be doing now).
Depending on what you are calling the President's 'base'......and what some others on this forum call his base......it would stand to reason that by appealing to them, he would move too far right to win a national election, and we'd be in big trouble.
I guess I'm confused as to what you consider to be the 'good lesson' to be learned from the mess that Perot caused in the '92 election. Do you mind clarifying it?

"I believe the media artificially pumped Carters numbers before the election as well." The MEDIA pump the polls, intimidate voters with premature election returns, constantly for hours on end on the day of the election begin the poll reviews with negative mental pictures of Dubya - preposterous!

The Democrats are tearing themseves apart. They will continue to do so. George Bush Sr. didn't care about the campaign until the end when he put Jim Baker in charge which was too late. you also have to realize that Fox news wasn't around back then to help us out with the swing vote. 04 will be alot different. What FReepers need to concentrate on is turnout and local races. That will really help our cause of less government.
