Rush was all over the Oil for Kofi program today. He was all over the Russians, German and French, when he interrupted his dialogue with the news that France is now hinting at lifting the sanctions and phasing out the "Oil for Chirac" program. His take was that they know the files will prove the billion dollar scam and this new stance will blunt the crime.

this is a thought I had when I pondered why the money was hidden or left - if I was Saddam I would have sponsored huge counterfeiting operations to attack US currency value. Glad to see somebody else thought about that possibility, too, and they're testing. If it's counterfeit that's a smoking gun as big as or bigger than the WMD and AlQaeda ties which are coming to light. If it's real that's a lot of pressure on UN & the Axis of Weasels to remove their bloody hands from the lifeline to the Iraqi people as there's plenty of money on hand to make them sweat for some time.

Yeah, there was a servant-turned-spy during WWII at some British site and got away with it for years. All of it in cash, a quite large sum of money. He took and early retirement a few years after the war, and retired in England, and was promptly arrested for spending the conterfiet money. It appears to be a new stash. SH had over a billion stashed away, and the first batch may well have been his..The corruption and kickbacks were so extreme that these sums are not the least bit surprising. The first batch was boxed with Jordanian National Bank stickers on each container..

If it's new money, it's relatively easy to verify. If not, and we figure out it's counterfeit, let's use it to pay our UN dues. That's about what we get back for our dues anyway.
