I think there are still a lot more interesting, exciting stories to be told from Iraq but most of the media wants to move on now so as to not focus on anything that makes President Bush look good. I understand what you are saying though--during the thick of it, it was an exciting time. Just think how pumped up the troops and journalists over there must have felt!

There was also another General who was quite good, but I don't remember his name. Was it O'Leary?

Sucks, don't it? Now us third shifters who have a night off can watch the news channel's prime time repeated over & over all night...I liked having live programming, even if there wasn't much news to report. I swear Col. Hunt has the hots for Laurie Dhue...but then again, most red-blooded straight men would...I'm among 'em :)

I dont think we've "won" the peace yet, and I am worried that we wont find the WMDs and/or wont get a stable and democratic state in Iraq. I want to make sure the victory doesnt become a hollow one. Same thoughts here.

After spending 8 hours doling out justice in the prison I work at, I'd rush home at 11 p.m. so I could watch Shep Smith, and the others talk to the military analysts and the embeds. It was also nice to see Linda Vester back from maternity leave. Greg Kelly was great as was Rick Leventhal and Ollie North. I'd get misty and teary-eyed when these guys would interview our men in uniform and let them send their greetings home. Fox did an awesome job covering the war, and I too am suffering from withdrawal. I'm definitely having problems getting used to watching something other than Fox News.
Shep Smith was hands-down the best!! It wasn't quite the same on his nights off. He has a unique style, and his concern for the troops and Rick Leventhal was refreshing. How nice to see a journalist who wasn't afraid to show what he felt in his heart. Thank God for Fox News. I hate thinking of what it would have been like had we only had CNN to provide us with what was going on. Yikes.
We may have kicked butt, but there's still alot of our men and women in harm's way. Whether it be Afghanistan, Germany, South Korea, Iraq or any other duty station, our troops face danger and are still vulnerable to attack. I only hope that the people of this country don't forget them, now that most of the combat has ended. They have made us proud and deserve our praise and continued support.
I'm back to watching programs I've recorded on my DVR. Somehow Mystery Science Theater leaves alot to be desired when it comes to the likes of Airborne, Marines, Seals, Special Ops, Rangers, etc. God Bless our troops, Old Glory, Fox News, and God Bless America. Long may they all wave!!!

I think you're right. I got that impression myself. The way he would lean out of his seat toward her, and look at her with that grin. I used to wonder what was going through his mind at the time.

Last weekend I went to my sister's. The only 24 hours news channel they get is CNN.
Talk about withdrawals. I hated it!! I will say though, Late Sat night/early sun morning when the CNN news crew came under fire was 'exciting'. But, I was dying to see if FNC carried the story and how they reported it, and what people were saying here about it!
I was so glad to get home, and be able to watch FNC!

I was watching the Spurs game on ESPN. Unfortunately, we were in Dallas. The game ran over into the alloted time slot that the *&^*&*&*& Dallas Mavericks was on ESPN. Much to my chagrin, the last eight minutes of regulation became
"blacked out". It's not 'Heidi Revisited', but it's close.
At least the Spurs hung on to win, didn't they? /sarcasm
I'm a Rockets fan, actually, but I can legally root for the Spurs.

I haven't watched CNN in *ages*. They simply don't exist anymore for me.
