Time for a little tough love before the 2004 Election
Ah, but herein lies the secret to your success.
At no time in my reading of your monograph did I see any blame cast towards "white Republicans", "white people", or the "white power structure". This was an exercise in self-criticism. Indeed, I was waiting for the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution to break out...
...indeed, I found this piece so refreshing that I have to go and shoo away the angry Red Guards from my door.
But seriously, it is not for us to change our message. It is for us to approach the black community anew. Remember, the people down at MLK and Alabama vote the way they do because we, as a party (and I'm including all us suburban white guys), haven't gone down there and told them that every time they vote for the Democrat, they are settling for the crumbs off someone else's table. If black voters want real power, they have to put their vote in play. But we, that is, you and I, must go to them and tell them that if they never make the DUmmies work for their vote, and if black voters continue to accuse Republicans of wearing sheets, then no one will give a rat's ass what the black community thinks.
Because none of the white guys with power will have to-Republican or Democrat.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

African Americans consitute 12% of the population, yet African American women (and girls) undergo 35% of U.S. abortions. This is black genocide
You make a great point, and thank you for contributing your views to this important topic. Also, allow me to tip my hat off to you for being the rarest of the rare, an African American female who is a Republican.

My suggestion would be to go after small business people in the neighborhoods, they understand what higher taxes mean to the bottom line. Plus, they ae people who think for themselves.

It's hard sometimes, but I'm grateful for a twin sister who thinks just like me. Double Trouble! Thanks for the encouragement!

We're not going to turn the ship of black opinion around to the right quickly, so it makes sense to try to steer the ship of youth opinion which is more centered than the ship of older black opinion which is almost 180 degrees away from where we want them.

Thank you, too, for the encouragement. We'll be back out on the street tomorrow morning in front of the abortion clinic, having our say, God willing. Last week, we were able to help two young women change their minds about having the abortion. Praise the Lord! The property on which the clinic is located is owned by an African American businessman. The abortion doctor and his entire staff are also African American! They really resent us accusing them of black genocide. They're just too finished with us. One woman came charging out of the clinic last weekend, accusing us of being agents of the devil! As you can see, there's much work to be done in the African American community. We plan to take our concerns about the clinic to our local ward representative. Please pray for our safety tomorrow and that we win souls to Christ in the process!

Condoleeza and Colin show what can be done, yet the black Catch-22 seems to be that success must have involved sellout, therefore there is no hope. Sort of a auto-rope-a-dope. Maybe some folks fear success because it flies in the face of their hatred.

I'm feelin' you. I just don't want to be redundant. Everyone knows where I stand. And fear isn't a factor.
And today was a good day...

African Americans consitute 12% of the population, yet African American women (and girls) undergo 35% of U.S. abortions. This is black genocide, yet it's shocking that so many in the African American community are pro-choice (pro-death).I must take exception to the above statement. Abortion is voluntary (please don't tell me about economic slavery), and therefore cannot be genocide. It's not even suicide, since there is definite population growth in the black population in the U.S.
You make the same mistake as liberals when you blame others for your own actions (I'm referring to blacks as a whole, not you personally).
As for black politicians, they are inevitably pigeon-holed into taking up "black issues", and since these "black issues" predominantly reflect liberal causes and values, then there is little incentive for conservative blacks to go into politics. They won't get elected. In fact, they will be vilified, as we have seen.

I hear what you're saying, but you're also fighting ideology that is entrenched in bigotry and stereotype. For many in the black community, republican is as good as calling someone a four letter.
Look my husband is one of the biggest right wingers I know. His best friend is originally from Trinidad. This guy is an engineer, hard working, strong ethical values, and generally conservative. Sounds like he might be a candidate for switching parties?
Except that he weighs what he hears on Joyners morning show, with the news slant that BET puts out, and cable news. Most of what is being produced for the black demographic is heavily slanted towards the left. The democrats have succesfully created the demon with a republican face.
I also don't feel it's quite fair to hang this problem on the back of the minority black republicans. So what if they don't know where MLK and Alabama ave. are located. Heck, most of DC is left wing regardless of race.
You want to make inroads? Start with the rural black population, then move towards the suburbs. Cities by nature of their needs, white, black or tan are left wing...and that's not going to change any time soon.

One more thing....we want to win on issues, don't we? Start with individual issues. I've had more luck convincing people white and black, of the idiocy behind anti-gun laws than on most issues. Particularly when I lived in a neighborhood next to a "hot spot". None of my neighbors, black or white took issue with my NRA and pro-gun stickers after I explained their purpose. Crime is color blind.
What should be a prominent black issue, is partial privatization of social security. Particularly for minorities considering their avg. death rate has not caught up. I can't imagine anyone wouldn't want to leave something tangible behind for their family.

You are about most the black Republicans
the Republican leadership has embraced
like Powell, Rice and Armstrong Williams.
However, the Republicans have real leaders
like Alan Keyes and the Republican
leadership has rejected them totally.

And you're either really brave, or have more guts than brains.... ;) Nah... Folks are folks.

Remember when Alan Keyes was arrested? Did any prominent pubbies stick up for him?

No, like I said the Republican refuses
to embrace the really good black leaders
like Alan Keyes.
Keyes was not allowed to even speak at
the 2000 convention and was not even
considered for a cabinet postion
even though he is very qualified.
PhD, former UNAmbassador.
Compare Keyes who speaks 6 languages
being secretary of state to Powell.

Actually it is over 40% of abortions
are performed on black mothers,
there are now more abortions performed
on black mothers than live brithes.
The number of young black women being
born has been a low enough rate now,
that a reduction in the black population
is a lock and if trends continue
the black population will become a tiny
minorty in US.
Groups like Planned Parenthood have
targeted blacks and other minorties for
population control in the United States
and around the world.
They push abortion in the minorty populations
in minorty areas and they lie to the women
about the know physical and emotional risks
of abortion.
In Third world contries they support forced
abortion programs and even distribute
birth control that has recalled in US
for causing sterlization.
The proper view of responsiblty is
that both the buyer must carefull
and also you must not defraud
everyone must be responsible
not just the buyer.
To: ScholarWarrior
Rice is not one of those voices she is pro-abortion,
pro-gay rights, pro-quotas.
She is another Powell, the only difference
is most conservatives do not know what her
views are.
