You're welcome. Some of us over here recognize integrity when we see it.

I don't care if he's a Laborite, his character came through big time when we needed a friend.

A big hurray for Mr Blair! He has been one of our best allies in the history of this country since the nightmare of 9/11!

That's the top US award? It isn't good enough. Congress needs to recognize Blair.

Oooops. They did. The Ellis thingy is not the top award.
This is.
"Mr Blair is also due to become the first Briton since Sir Winston Churchill to be awarded the Congressional Gold Medal."

Thank you Mr. Blair!
To: MadIvan
Well, I've never heard of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for International Leadership, although I'm sure it's nice.
I'm delighted to read about PM Blair receiving the Congressional Gold Medal though. No one more deserving, and I'm changing my tag line back to a previous one for this post.

(My dad, a WW2 vet, always said that "America's best and most loyal ally is..Britain". He was right.)
To: xJones
You're correct, his character did come shining through. This man faced potential politcal annihilation, from within his own party nonetheless, but he stood for what he believes is right and just.

I wonder if the USNAVY will name a ship after him, too?

It doesn't
look too good for a ship name, but
Presidential prerogative might be the rule.
