We'll see what Private Lynch has to say about it. (A few things jumped off the BS meter here, too.)

Quote "There are two faces to Americans, Dr Harith said. One is
freedom and democracy, and giving kids sweets. The other is
killing and hating my people. So I am very confused. I feel sad
because I will never see Jessica again, and I feel happy because
she is happy and has gone back to her life. If I could speak to
her I would say: Congratulations!
That is VERY VERY sad indeed...if all of this story is true...well it is a shame.

BULL SHIT
This says it all "a bullet wound to her leg"
It was reported a few days after she reached a US controlled hospital she had no bullet wounds.
Just another Sadamite liar.

Uhm.... Private Lynch has been in a long process of being debriefed (is that the correct word for it?).

You're pretty quick to jump on this propaganda. I, for one, will dismiss it unless and until we have proof to the contrary. Jessica's side of things will go a long way (though, I'm sure the Times would say she's been brainwashed by the military if she denies it).

I agree it's bullshit, but Jessica did suffer gunshot wounds. That initial assessment was corrected.

What the heck??? Is Fisk writing under a pseudonym now?? This is a steaming pile of crap.
There's a critical line in here when the Dr. says that the marines where firing their weapons as they went through the building. This is abso-friggin-lutely impossible. You never shoot up the place during a rescue - never never never.
The Doc's a liar.
To: Rastus
If I were a part of a rescue effort into a hospital known to be an enemy headquarters, I might be suspicious of the doctors I encountered, and choose to immobilize and question them. As to the ambulance being fired on, if it happened, lay that at the feet of the fedayeen, who had already begun using ambulances to conduct ambushes at this point in the war.

So you see it as an Obi-Wan, certain-point-of-view kind of thing? That's possible.

Dr Harith went outside the hospital during the bombing to get supplies of Private Lynchs favourite drink, orange juice, and struggled to persuade her to eat. One of the things I remember being put out in the press was that she was supposedly asking for food after her rescue saying she was so hungry from not being fed. I don't think the military was saying that. I thought it was the doctors.
To: anguish
I smell a Democ
rat in all this too.
Were her injuries inflicted in this place? How did she end up in this "hospital"? I doubt she was simply "dumped on the doorstep", as it were....

After her condition stabilised, they ordered Dr Harith to transfer Jessica to another hospital. Instead he told the ambulance driver to deliver her to one of the American outposts that had already been established on the ouskirts of the city. And from another article:
At that point, however, U.S. officials did not have confirmation of her location. It is now believed she was held at elsewhere before being moved to the place in which she was rescued.
One has to wonder whether Dr. Harith was actually present when Pvt. Lynch was rescued. Did the ambulance driver bring her back to the same location or take her on to the location as ordered by the Iraqi guards?
To: anguish
This story (1) activates my BS detector and (2) confirms that Arabs like to whine a lot.
To: anguish
So, why were Jessica Lynch's broken bones not set? Why were they planning to amputate her legs? Why was she slapped when she did not respond to her interrogators? This story smells as if it was written by a CNN or NPR reporter.
