I was out of town lobbying for 2nd Amendment sanity, so I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.

Your 2003 Heritage quotation 1)has no relevance to the words used by the Founding Fathers and 2)does not support the context of the day in which the Constitution was written and supported in the Federalist papers and other documents which explicitly affirmed individual rights to defend themselves and keep tyrannical government in check.

Furthermore, your posts are right out of the *FAR* left wing RAT playbook to bulldoze the 2nd. You obviously not only are for a ban on firearms that 'look' a certain way - you go so far as to argue that the 2nd does not pertain to an individual's rights to own and bear arms.

Shall not infringe means exactly that. But then, the Constitution is an obstacle in your life it seems.

The govt has now, by their own admission gotten away with violation of the 1st, via the CFR that Bush signed despite his own reservations as to Constitutionality, the 2nd amendment through over 20,000 gun laws including the AWB, as well as the 4th, and 5th via the Patriot Act, RICO and other asset forfeiture laws, etc etc.

Do the govt goons have to come in the middle of the night and carry them away before the light goes on?

I choose to make a stand here, regardless of how small or incidental the AWB looks to others. My hope is that by putting the fear of non-election into Bush, at least this one goes away. If this doesn't work, politicians may next be targeted for a more definitive demonstration of the meaning of the 2nd. Then all hell breaks loose.
