For those who might have missed it, this was posted late last night:

We received a huge quantity of server-grade memory from Missouri this fundraiser, enough to completely max out both our database servers-- and that's nothing to sneeze at. We'll be able to handle more hits, and serve more pages much quicker. And, Missouri has threatened to send even more equipment to speed us along through 2003.

Missouri rushed us FOUR 1 GB ECC SDRAM modules for a grand total of FOUR GIGABYTES OF RAM. Simply amazing. I still have disk drives running that are just that size, and this stuff is RAM. I'm drooling. :-)

Way to go Missouri!

Totally off-topic, but did you know that only about 1,000 people contribute to keep Free Republic up and running? That is out of over 100,000 registered users on this site.

So with only about $6,000 dollars to go to meet this quarter's goal, I am going to post the following and hope that those who might read this thread will send a couple bucks FR's way.

Another side comment -- any idea as to why the FR secure server might be rejecting a legit MC for donations ("The transaction has been declined")? -- under my limit, bills all paid, firewall is down for it, I just ordered Splinter Cell (great game, if anybody likes to viddy viddy viddy well) with it, but I can't donate to FR with it! And it's my only dang card, cuz I, like any good conservative, don't like buying things on credit. :p

It expires 9/03 -- maybe MBNA is in the process of giving me a new account #?
