She barely graduated from a good high school. Why does she care? What education she got didn't do her any good anyway.

Don't bother reading this crap. If your kids don't have books and supplies, go down to the School Department and give someone a boot in the ass. Education is a local issue and always has been a local issue.
The most important thing is to get YOUR kids educated. Then get YOUR politicians behind the idea of abolishing the Department of Education.
Hey, anybody notice that the budget just submitted was the largest in history?

I already have this problem solved: All the rich liberals in show biz sell their assets and donote the procedes to the school district of their choice.

Next problem?

Oh BaBa...which article of the Constitution allows the Federal Govt. to expend one red cent on education? Please be specific. I have asked this question of both of "my" senators, I have received yet to receive an answer.

With all of the wealth in this country, why do we have schools in low-income neighborhoods that are overcrowded, lack accredited teachers and even lack basic supplies?

Empty your own wallet Babs...keep your mutthooks off of mine and my families you psycho rich 'itch

Babs, the last person we will listen to about better education is from an illiterate, ill-read person such as yourself. Just go sit in the corner and brush up on your Shakespeare.

And since there's not much propaganda mileage in Iraq just now, what about "Bull Durham"?

It ain't about the money, babs. Public schools are *choking* on money. The problem is 2 parts NEA union corruption and one part liberal cirriculum.

Oh, and of course all this is W's fault.

I pray the moderates/independent voters see these radicals "concerns" as just a way to bash W and try to regain power. POWER, POWER, POWER. That's all it's about with them.

Why can't we provide better education to our young people?

Because the teachers unions have a stranglehold on all money that goes into the system and no matter how much we spend it won't make in difference.

Any other questions?

It is a wonderful thing that the semi-illiterate and always incoherent Barbra has hired someone with command of the English language to proof read her magnificent web site.

Dear Barbra:
The reason why we can't provide a better education for most Americans is because your friends on the Left (including Democrats, liberals, the various teachers unions and the entrenched interest groups and bureaucracy) will not permit it. The proof of this is their absolute opposition to vouchers as well as their total support for democratic candidates at all levels of government. Remember, your hero, bill clinton, had a dismal education record in Arkansas, but you supported him anyway.

Hmm...let me venture a guess, Babs. Perhaps because low-income school districts are usually managed by liberal Democrats that have no clue about how to manage a school district?

Perhaps Babs should just go back to starring in porno films. This shrill b*tch hasn't a clue. And nowhere ... AND I MEAN NOWHERE in our Constitution does it provide for Federally Funded Schools ... that is another legacy of the DemocRATically supported Welfare State. Which is in contravention (I might add) to what the Founding Fathers had intended.

Read the first two paragraphs of this article again. They are pretty much on the mark.

Amazing that Barbra could provide such a good analysis of how the Democrat's devotion to the Teacher's Unions have nearly destroyed education for those that have to attend public schools. Alas, by the third paragraph it is clear that as suspected she has no clue. The Republicans who want and need an educated population and who fight for (Barbra's favorite word) CHOICE in education are the supposed cause of the problems she sees in our schools.

Good analysis Barbra but your conclusion on where to place the blame is off by at least 180 degrees.
